On a par with 'Raffles Hotel'. A very good deal was obtained on the Internet. The old facade is well maintained and the modern interior is to a very high standard. A top class hotel by any standard.

Night Zoo Very worthwhile - trip to the zoo at night. You'll see animals that are active only or mostly at night.

Museums and Art Gallery The Asia Civilisations Museum has a wealth of artifacts. The Singapore National Museum is mostly a decorated walk-through story book (via a headset and player). The Art Gallery is a maze of displays. All are worthwhile in their own right but have a shortage of seating areas if you need to sit for a spell between rooms. Allow up to 2 hours for each venue.

MRT A great way to get around. Very inexpensive and you always get a $1 refund. However, the trains are very very crowded so try to miss rush hours and Sundays. Being a "senior" you may find standing a little difficult on longer journeys but I was offered a seat by a young man which was typical of the politeness and respect of the wonderful people here. (Mind you I did have to accept that I must look "old" (LOL) which brought me down to earth with a bump
