Excellent service, friendly staff, very clean, value for money, will go back!
from Khaki06Great value hotel
from Pinkrose22pinkExcellent location
from rbok002The staff were friendly and there's a lot of breakfast options nearby. Excellent stay
great location, great rooms, bit dated, fantastic service
from udo_schuklenkthe rooms i thought to be quite spacious and the breakfast was borderline ok. getting into the hotel from orchard is a bit of a hassle as you've to switch elevators, but hey, it's ok i guess. either way, excellent value for money.
Great Location
from grumblebumsOur major problem while at the Concorde was the comfort of the bed, the mattress being extremely hard and the pillows far too soft to give any kind of neck support. The buffet breakfast was excellent with good variety and it was nice to see different dishes offered each morning as well as standard ones. A major plus for this hotel is the location, a fabulous range of cheap, good quality food is available below and within the block of the hotel as is an internet cafe. As the location is Orchard Rd, good shopping and Dhoby Ghat MRT is only a short stroll away.
Excellent service and professional hosts made our stay a real vacation!
from SwedishTigerWe stayed 9 nights with two small kids (age 4,5 and 3).
This was in the end of 5 weeks vacation in Asia with the family and we stayed in Singapore to visit friends/family.
We asked for babysitting two evenings and the professional attitude and confidence by the host made the evenings very enjoyable.
The above together with excellent breakfasts and very nice rooms made our stay a real vacation!
We will stay at the hotel again!
Value for money with good service!
from solankaCentrally located with easy access to shopping malls and restaurants.
Had a very pleasant stay to celebrate our Silver Jubilee wedding anniversary.
A pleasant stay
from DeejaypeaThe well located hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
My only gripe was the breakfast. The hotel didn't serve pork. Fine, but why oh why do they (and almost all the many other halal hotel restaurants I have taken breakfast) have to offer 'turkey bacon' and 'turkey ham' ? Perhaps I am just a Grumpy Old Man as none of this was of concern to my wife!!
Anyway, all in all we enjoyed our stay. Nothing exceptionally good, but more importantly nothing bad.
Tired - but not bad
from RichD1975Comfortable, large room although a large crack down the wall barely covered up hardly inspires confidence in a place. All in all, a fair enough place to stay if you want comfort but not really bothered about appearance if you're going to be spending not much time in your room. Slightly odd location above a decidedly average, decaying shopping arcade specialising in tat, massages and karaoke bars on Orchard Road.
Not bad, has lots of potential!
from worldtraveller68First, they were renovating the upper floor, so the dated furniture and carpet will be gone soon. The room was really huge. I had a few friends come over and they were all amazed at how big my room was. I also stayed on the Premier floor, and the Premier lounge was really good as it had complimentary breakfast and happy hour. Also, staying on the Premier floor meant that your internet access was complimentary as well. A very good deal when you consider that I was traveling for business. But the entire package made my stay affordable and convenient.
But the best part was the service. Everyone I encountered, particularly on the Premier floor, was cordial, helpful, friendly, and cheerful. They were honestly the best staff in Singapore I've ever encountered. Always smiling, always accommodating, I'd dare say that they made you feel even better than the service staff in other 5-star hotels in Singapore.
Other than the datedness of the furniture, I'd say that the downstairs area (below the lobby is 1 floor of bars and shops) -- clearly not affiliated with the hotel but if you don't get there by taxi you have to go through. These set of shops in and of themselves are OK but because the hallways are long for people unfamiliar with Singapore they may feel a bit unsafe or that it was dodgy. But if you are familiar with Singapore, particularly the karaoke pubs, then you'll be OK. You can get a really great foot massage in the Thai massage place there (they're legit).
By the way, the location on Orchard Road made this hotel really convenient, and you're only 2 block from Dhoby Ghaut the MRT station on one side and main Orchard shopping area on the other side. So I think location-wise it's great. It does get annoying the ERP prices you have to pay additional when you take taxis during rush hours because you're in the Central district of Singapore, but I'd definitely stay at the Concorde again. For sure.
Incidentally, as a point of comparison, I decided to stay here after spending a week at the Gallery Hotel. Yes the Gallery Hotel is cooler and hipper, but the Concorde has better service and I feel is a way better value for the money spent.
Top Local Tips for Singapore
Seeing what you can in 4 days Our agent in Singapore was very slow to catch up with our planned activities. We eventually used the RMG tour desk in the hotel, and found them great, well organised and very easy to deal with.Because of the short stay we decided to do 4 tours.Trip to Sentosa was great.Night safari as opposed to the day zoo, would suggest if you have time do both.A heartland tour including whats left of the old Changi prison museum, and a city tour.
Taxi - maxicab to the city You can catch a taxi from the airport to the city for less than a maxicab price but the journey is much more comfortable. We had a maxicab (i.e. people mover/van type vehicle) that was very plush inside, even had a TV screen with a DVD playing. The cost was $35 one way and was great for us as there were 3 adults and 2 children and lots of luggage.
Dive with the sharks, mantas and a lot of fishes In the underwater world in Sentosa island, There is a diving program for 95 s$. I suggest that every diver that goes here must do this dive. We feed Mantas with our hands. A Napoleon stole their food from our hands. There are leopard sharks travelling between your foot. Nurse sharks resting. In order to take a photo, You have to push some rude fishes which were blocking the view of your frined and the shark he is playing. :)))))))) Just Dive it. " I dived with the sharks in the Underwater World S?ngapore and I survived. " tshirt is great
