I stayed at the hotel on October 27, 2006 for 2 nights. I am ok with how the check in process was, the room and the location. My problem is this, my daughter tried to call me from San Francisco the day we checked in. She was asked for my last and first name at least 6 times and after each time was out on hold. My daughter was understandably irritated because the whole process was already taking too much time and she was calling long distance. Finally she was told that we have not checked in even though we checked in hours before she called. My daughter (the planner that she is) emailed the hotel days before my arrival to see how she can send an amenity to my room (fruit platter, cheese and wine etc) but up to this day, she has not received a response from anyone from the hotel. She also called the day we checked in (after she confirmed with me that I indeed got checked in) to asked how she can send me an amenity (since she has not heard from anyone via email). After trying to explain to the front office person (it was a guy) what she meant by amenity, she was told that all amenities are already in the room – the agent was referring to the soap, shampoo and coffee maker. She again tried to explain by giving examples this time but to no avail. She was transferred 2 times and no one was able to help her. The last person she talked to asked for her email address claiming that they will give her (my daughter's) information to the reservation department because they have the information. NO ONE responded.

So I think my main concern is that the hotel is not staffed with competent employees or they are just not provided proper training to deal with international travelers. What a shame. It can be a good hotel if they just have the right people for the job.
