Metered Taxi's.... Be sure you flag down a 'Metered taxi' and be sure the driver turns on the meter when you get in. Look at the meter when you get to your desination and pay what is on the meter, and a little more if the driver was honest and accomodating. Don't ask 'What do I owe you?'....You are likely to get a higher amount than what is on the meter. I experienced quite a bit of this. The meter runs on the time you spend in the taxi not the distance traveled. You may also discover some drivers going slow or taking longer routes to your destination to make a little more money. Manila traffic is terrible anyway so expect some extended waits at stop lights or intersections. This doesn't ALWAYS happen but anticipate it.
