Top Local Tips for Makati City
Visit the Coconut Palace The Coconut Palace, built in 1978 by Imelda Marcos for Pope John Paul II's visit is a fantastic building made entirely of coconut materials. The craftsmanship that has gone into each room and each piece of furniture is absolutely amazing. For 100 pesos/person, you can gain access to the palace and included in the price is a guided tour. Highly recommended!
Do Not Stay at the Intercontinenetal Manila unless its the last resort....... Gym is overcrowded. Breakfast is very expensive. I will start staying at the Shangri La Makati where I usually stay. Rooms here are bigger, cleaner, and better beds. I visit Manila 4 times a year and will pay more to stay in hotel other than Intercontinental. I wont stay at the Intercontinental Makati again. Small rooms, terrible bed, overcharge for Broadband in the room, and generally a bad experience. Enjoy Manila and for the money you pay get the best. Your customer service and quality of product is below world travellers. v/r
