Stayed here for two weeks on a business trip, and was very happy to come back to the hotel every night. The rooms aren't the biggest I've seen, but they were fine: clean, well maintained and with all the usual bits and pieces. I can't understand the reviewer who said that the breakfast was disappointing - there was a huge amount to choose from every day, which seemed to cover everything from continental-style meats and cheeses, to full cooked English breakfasts, breads, cereals, and oriental favourites. No shortage of choice at all. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Restaurant was fine, but with all the other ones in the Ayala Centre (2 minutes away), I didn't eat in the hotel very often. All in all, a great place to stay on business and one that I will come back to.

I managed to finally stay at Cebu Marriott after several attempts to get a room... it is almost always fully booked. The rooms are up to the Marriott world standard, clean and courteous and helpful staff.

Bec. of its central location in the Ayala Cebu business district, this hotel is busy and i think the facilities are not enough to accomodate people who want to patronize it. They should add more rooms. The coffee shop is always full. It serves a wide variety of food, and is noisy during peak hours. This is probably the most expensive hotel in Cebu City, not including the resort hotels in Mactan island.

The hotel security is very tight, for those with vehicles coming in and also for individuals going into the hotel. I felt safe here.

The room had a very musty odor and was not cleaned very well. The food was average and the breakfast buffet was very limited (many items were empty) The front desk staff are not helpful and are at times very rude. The outside bar and pool is very nice.

Stayed here for two weeks, on my third visit to Cebu. Have previously stayed at the Waterfront Mactan, Waterfront City, Marco Polo Plaza.

This is the best hotel to be found in Cebu, in my opinion. Staff are genuinely friendly, excellent English and eager to be of assistance to help make arrangements. The restaurant food, even the buffet food, is spectacular.

Clientele is largely North American and local filipino.

The location is also the best - right in the middle of the Cebu Business Park and next to Ayala Centre Mall. Perfect for business or recreation. Check out the live music at the pool bar or take a two-minute walk to Ratzky's in Ayala for the club scene.

Everything's right there... shopping, a driving range across the street, cheap internet cafes in the mall.

This hotel used to be much more expensive than others in the City, but the others have raised their prices.

We stayed in the Marriott Cebu City for 6 days in July. We did expect the usual standard associated with the Marriott brand but were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The room had a good size, excellent bed and was impeccably clean. The bathroom was nicely appointed and was also very clean. Staff were very helpful and delivered great service throughout. The restaurant serves good food which is important in Cebu City as a decent local restaurant scene is almost non-existent. The pool is small but adequate and the pool bar terrace is a lovely place to unwind after a hectic day. We booked our room through the Marriott web site and the rate (USD 72 per room per night) included breakfast, which made it good value for money. Highly recommended.

Was my first time in Cebu together with my husband good for me cuz the malls and Parks is near by the hotel,...the hotel staff was really friendly and theyre service was also really good,their Menus and buffet was really really good like five star hotel...hmmm,i miss the tomato soup unforgettable and thier bday cake and some staff from the reataurant sing live for the bday guesst....good idea...Why not????they have also live singer for dinner was also good ...
then we come back here after our check out just to eat dinner for almost everynight with the taxi from Maribago Bluewater...was far from here ....

I booked the Marriott Hotel in Cebu using Expedia and the rates back then were very reasonable for what we actually got compared to other accomodation around the city. I am glad I booked the Marriott instead of the beach resorts in Mactan Island near Cebu (1 hours taxi drive with moderate traffic). I went at the time of the Sinulog Festival, a huge festival I believe the second biggest in Asia, and the Marriott Hotel displayed the festival on a big projection in the lobby. There is often a pianist playing a grand piano in the evenings and the decor is very pleasant and warm.

The Sinulog Festival is walking distance from this hotel.

It took a while to confirm my booking at the front desk but once thats over with the porter assisted us to our room which was very bright with a nice view. A nice sized bed, the bathroom was small but impeccable.

The breakfast was buffet, and even though it doesn't compare to the good old English breakfast you could almost match it. A great selection of food, the staff were extremely friendly and dutiful.

The pool is small but sufficient. There was live music around the bar on the occassional evening with a top quality buffet and cocktails at the bar, a really great Filipino band.

There is an air conditioned mall around the corner which is great, and there is also a jeepney park nearby if you want to get around the city for as little as 3 or 4 pence equivalent! There are mainstream banks close to the hotel, one opposite and one about 200 yards up the road to cash travellers cheques etc. Marriott also cash travellers cheques themselves but with a small charge.

We had a very pleasant stay in the Marriott, I would certainly recommend it to anybody. If you are considering staying in Mactan, don't... Go to Marriott and get a taxi from as little as 4 pound equivalent return (make sure the meter is turned on) because there is only 1 or 2 nice beaches in Mactan and the resorts are a little dull and the island is a tourist nightmare. (J Greens Restuarant on Mactan is simple but stunning)

A better stay than the Peninsula in Manila!

SERVICE
I guess my disappointment started when i was queuing up to check in and there were 2 people who cut in ahead of me. And the front office just did nothing. Well, they got their rooms apparently, so did my friend who was ahead of me, but i didn't, because it was not yet the official check-in time. AND they did nothing to facilitate me e.g. suggest to hold my luggage, or offer me alternatives to freshen up, even after i told them i had to go straight to a few business meetings.

Checking out was another bad experience. They wanted to charge me for a minibar item which i did not consume. They insisted that i sign off on the bill with the minibar item, although they did later give me another bill with the item minused off.

ROOM
The room doors were also so thin and you could hear people outside speaking loudly at around 6-7 am. Presume they were hotel staff because they were speaking in the local dialect.

Other than that, the rooms were ok. A little shabby though.

BATHROOM
Bathroom was ok, and i liked that the toilet was a distance away from the bathtub, in fact, it was in a section behind the bathroom door.

BREAKFAST
Nothing fantastic, although i loved sitting by the little pool in the outdoors. (You have to request for this. They usually make you sit upstairs where the food is).

Stayed here while assisting w/ the response to the tragic mudslide in Guinsaugon, Leyte. Hotel is very nice and clean, although the pool is a bit small. The buffet is very good and the service is efficient. The movie theater at the mall next door is pretty cool as well.

This is my first time staying at this hotel in Cebu. I have to say it was the best hotel I've stayed at while vacationing there. The check in was easy and the lady who checked us in went to our room with us to make sure it was adequate enough for us. We got another room for my parents and brother and instead of having two beds, they gave us a room with only one bed. They cleared it up fairly quickly. The housekeeping staff was very warm and friendly. They always had smiles on their faces whenever we saw them. When I called the "at your service" desk to request extra towels or whatever, I like how they call you later to check to see if you got what you requested. The pool was small but was never crowded. Everyone there treated us very well and I will definately stay at this hotel again.
