I had to call their office up numerous times spending a lot on phone calls to try to book a reservation and I requested them to email or fax me a breakdown of how much would my stay cost.

I probably spent more than 25 minutes all in all on my mobile phone requesting and following them up to send me a breakdown so I can properly budget my vacation.

I decided not to stay in their resort for a simple reason: If their customer service is this bad and in their perspective "I am the one who needs their resort" I think they got it all wrong... "they have to attend to their customers otherwise they will lose customers if they can't fulfill such a simple request".

Top Local Tips for Boracay Islands

Negotiating During your stay in Boracay, you will certainly be approached every 5 to 10 minutes by walking vendors selling everything from water sport time to food and jewelry. These folks will rarely offer their bottom line pricing and haggling is necessary, if not a required, part of the experience. We typically found that we could negotiate a 50% discount with the proper amount of smiles and friendly haggling. I found several vendors who were exceptionally friendly to work with and I tipped them well.

What to Expect from Kalibo if you fly PAL 1)Arrive in Kalibo. You will see a flood of porters. I wouldn't worry about anyone stealing your stuff. Make sure you have your eye on your luggage at all times though. The people here are pretty trustworthy, it's their job and I'm sure that your generous tip is appreciated. Look for Southwest Tours desk outside after you pick up your luggage. Southwest run the ground/boat transfer. You'll be directed to a large air conditioned bus. Hopefully, you get a new one which is more comfortable. 2) Bus ride to Caticlan is about 1.5 to 2 hours away, depending on how fast your driver navigates the streets, and how he manages the pedestrians along the road. Enjoy the view, the people, the glimpse of island life. When you reach Caticlan, have the porters carry your luggage again to the boat. I recommend not packing over 50 lbs of stuff for mobility. 3) Boat ride - I read it takes 30 min from Caticlan to Boracay port (I think it's called Cagbao) more....
