WWII, great diving and kayaking Were divers so we go back for diving but the above water interests were spectacular. THe kayaking in the atoll is great fun and you see so much WWII stuff all around everywhere that it makes the war very real and palpable. Pelelieu is wonderful - the crashed zero, tanks, amphibtraks, gun implacements and those gruesome caves, wow. After our first visit we got all the books - EB Sledge - such tragedy. Even on the second visit it is so moving. Pelelieu is a long haul - combine it with a dive trip.

Best dining in Palau! My husband and I loved eating at the following restaurants while we stayed in Palau: Drop off bar - great burgers, chicken and fries! Palm Bay Bistro - Excellent steak, chicken and fish. The Taj - Awesome indian food. On the other hand, avoid the Penthouse restaurant and the thai restaurant - you will be very dissapointed.

families with kids MUST do all the snorkeling spots. bring comfortable snorkeling gear for them. private places will do all the touristy spots. shop on line before you go. hard to find resources once you get there.
