My partner and I stayed here in summer on a particularly hot day. Firstly, after attempting to cool a bottle of wine we realised the fridge did not work - at all. Secondly, the air conditioning unit didn't work either. Duty staff was incompetent and after many attempts at getting some kind of resolution we were told they couldn't do anything about it and would give us a measly $10 discount. We were assured that the manager would be in touch to discuss the poor service... Never heard from her. DON'T STAY HERE!!

Weekend in Rotovegas GO TO FAT DOG FOR LUNCH OR DINNER - This is one of the best cafes I have been to, great prices, great staff and HUGE portions!! Fine dining it is not, but great value for money it is. I would avoid the $30+ a main restaurants in vegas and go for the lesser priced options to avoid disappointment. In Auckland there is enough competition to ensure that the $30+ establishments serve great food, in Vegas, these restaurants seem to be more after the tourist dollar. For a good honest pub feed go to the pig and whistle, they also have a band on sat nights. For attractions there is loads to do, luge is fun for us big kids, wai-o-tapu is great for the bubbles (but dont forget the free thermal park in town!), hells gate spa is great for a mud bath but watch out for the staff coming in mid-bath!
