Top Local Tips for Pauanui

Base for loads of trips Good base for trips especially a scenic drive to Coromandel and the Driving Creek Railway. Takes a daybut brilliant.

Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach Make sure that you get out to cathedral cove and hot water beach, about 1hr30mins from Puka Park; It is well worth the drive!

19th Hole Bar in Pauanui Beach shopping centre Try this local hangout - very friendly people, good quality food and very reasonable prices. Loved the way they all joined in with "Who wants to be a Millionaire ?" (UK version) on TV. Try the lamb steaks if they on the menu (excellent!) Seemed kid-friendly too (max clientelle the 2 nights we were there was less than 20)
