Top Local Tips for Christchurch

Oxford Restaurant and Bars, Colombo St Good value "all you can eat" buffet dinner upstairs; excellent selection of dishes for a wide variety of tastes and dishes continually being topped up / replaced even after the main rush is over. An over 55 discount was offered at reception even though we weren't aware of it and certainly had not requested it. One of the few places that we came across in NZ that offered good food for good value along with excellent customer service.

SOL If your looking for trendy cafes and bars. Head down to South of Litchfiield and Poplar lanes. Old warehouses and back alley's have been converted into a number of bars and cafes. During the day the areas are quiet and good for coffee and early at night a great place to eat. Later at night the bars are alive with people of all ages enjoying the atmopshere, live bands and music. Well worth a try fir a good night out in Christchurch
