Top Local Tips for Auckland

Cruise ship terminal If cruising from Auckland stay at hotel away from Viaduct Harbour. Many highrise hotels just back from harbour where you can walk to the terminal and still have a great view of surrounding Auckland

No need for taxis for airport Use the airport shuttle buses not taxis, service is almost the same and at least half the price. On arrival pick one up outside airport, on leaving your accom. will book one.

Maritime museum; trip to Devonport The location of the hotel was only a block or two from the Maritime Museum which was very well done and informational as to the America's cup races as well as generally. You could take a ferry across the bay to Devonport or any of the other islands also which was very convenient.
