Loads od dining options If you are staying at this hotel, check out La Porchetta which offers nice pizza and pasta dishes. If Indian food is your thing, there is Raviz restaurant. I particularly enjoyed their lamb dishes. Behind Raviz is a little kebab shop, I don't remember the name but they had a good selection of hot dishes and since I am partial to chips/fries, they have some that are delicious.

Shuttle bus Taxi to and from airport is expensive, get airbus shuttle which runs every 15 minutes

Food is expensive and of poor quality by American standards/service is pathetic. Food portions are tiny, quality and service is poor, drinks are expensive. Restaurants that don't give you what you pay for, and employees that act like they are the guests, are quite common in Auckland; it is extremely difficult to fire an employee there, and the fact that the country is a welfare state promotes childish attitudes of entitlement among the youth who primarily occupy these service positions, and who complain about the tips they don't receive at the job they either can't or refuse to do properly, while their health care is paid for and their minimum wage is about twice the US equivalent. Many bars are treated like 'drinking clubs' for the alcoholic staff, and owners are often too cheap to repair dangerous physical defects in/outside their establishment or provide adequate security, because in New Zealand you cannot sue for punitive damages. If you are from the United States, leave your expectations and any notions of tipping well for better service at home.
