Clean and comfortable

Just spent a week at the hotel with 16 students and very little to complain about regarding the hotel. We stayed at Le Pacifique, the budget section of the hotel. Everything was clean, staff all friendly and helpful. Main complaint was the bathrooms. Due to the length (or lack of it!) of the shower curtain, water splashed and ran onto the floor tiles, pooling where a waste outlet should have been placed. Slipped and nearly had a bad fall, as did several of my students. Budget breakfast was great, nobody going away hungry (as long as you didn't sleep in).
Facilities in room were excellent, with a microwave and bar fridge. Needed detergent and tea towel for washing up, though. Could have done with an extra reading light over the bed near the window.

Buses The bus stops right outside the Nouvata Park( Ligne Verte direct to downtown for CPF 200)

Best eating can be found... We found the best baguettes & coffee at L'Encas Patiserie, restaurant strip Baie de Citrons. Best dining was to be found at the Brasserie Tanmkauser (?) at 10, rue Jules Garnier, Point Plaisance - dining room open 7 - 11pm. Reasonable prices and tasty food. It's difficut to get something to eat from about 130pm - 3pm as a lot of shops close. We also found that it's best to eat early at night as most places will start to wind down about 830pm.

Bike Hire Go to the kiosk where you hire the water taxi to got Duck Island and hire bikes. They are a fun and inexpensive way to see Noumea.
