The staff at this Hotel are the best in terms of genuine friendliness and respect towards their guests that I have ever experienced, and I am an Hotelier. Facilities are excellent, rooms are clean and well fitted out. Both restaurants are very good, and the Club package is as good as any. Full marks to managment.

We selected the Hyatt Kathmandu for our main base on our first visit to Nepal and sincerely believe the excellent service and accommodation we experienced throughout our 10 night stay in the hotel contributed greatly to the pleasure of our holiday. In particular the staff at the hotel appeared genuinely warm and friendly and interested in us, whilst at the same tiime remaining professional and extremely polite and could not have done more for us.

We found the accommodation clean, tasteful and comfortable and both room and laundry services excellent. We also made good use of the outstanding club oasis and had tried several different types of massage treatment which we found good value for money.

The location, public rooms and grounds of the hotel were all beautiful and provided an 'oasis' of calm from the bustle of the city at the end of the hotel drive.

On leaving the hotel I was reduced to tears by the genuine warmth of the farewell we received from the hotel staff and intend returning to the Hyatt Kathmandu in the not-too-distant future.

With respect to the negative review by one trip advisor member in 2006; the experience they describe could not be more at odds with ours.

I booked online through the Hyatt's web site. This seemed to cause a lot of confusion for some reason at the front desk. I asked for a non-smoking room with two twin beds. I got a smoking room with one king size bed. I was switched to a new room that apparently had been used - the towel was wet and smeared with lipstick. The room was not very clean. The TV, shower and toilet didn't work. My check-out took 15 minutes. When I asked if there was a problem, the clerk kept on insisting "no problems" but kept on going to the back to consult with someone else. I do not think the reservation I made online was even read. I left to start my trek after only staying here one night, but upon my return, I did not stay here again but chose a hotel in Thamel. The grounds are pretty, however, the location is inconvenient to access Kathmandu's districts. It is pretty close to the airport, however.

I've been to Nepal before, but this time I brought my 13 yr old daughter with me and rather than go to some of the cheaper backpacker-type guesthouses, we decided to try the Hyatt for our first 2 nights. And it turned out to be a wonderful choice.

I was a bit wary at first as some reviews didn't favour the location (saying it was too far away and difficult to nagivate to get to with the ring road), but this is not the case!

The room was amazing --- very spacious, extremely clean and well tended. Comfy bed, luxurious bathroom, and lots of little touches that made it special. We had a fantastic view of the Stupa nearby.

Meals were very good with a varied assortment. We had buffet during our time there, but an a la carte menu is available. We also had access to the 3rd floor complimentary tea/coffee/soft drinks and snacks which was nice when we returned to our room after a day out and just wanted to relax before the next big outting.

The swimming pool was very enjoyable - my daughter was quick to try it out.

What I liked about the hotel were the unique and charming Nepalese touches that reminded me of where I was. I've been in other big hotels and in those, I wouldn't have even known I was in Nepal. The Hyatt is certainly different. The foyer is incredibly beautiful and in the evenings Nepalese music was played by musicians. The staff were always welcoming and friendly.

I will certainly be back to Nepal and will return to the Hyatt - and this time, I will stay longer!

Ws spent two weeks travelling in Nepal by local transport and 10 days by jeep in Tibet. On return to Nepal we booked into the Hyatt for a bit of R&R. It was to be a short "spoil ourselves" interlude but we enjoyed it so much we kept extending our stay.

The hotel was a welcoming, convenient, and quiet haven from our daily sorties to stupas and temples, several of which are within walking distance of the hotel. From the Hyatt it was easy to access the countryside for day trecking or to taxi into town; a complimentary bus service was available four times daily.

Our non-smoking room was spacious,spotless and soothing after the fun and excitement of navigating downtown - Thamel and Patan. Housekeeping kept it this way and newspaper, fresh fruit and bottled water appeared daily. At night we sometimes ate in front of tv ( a bad home habit) and enjoyed room service meals. The hot/cold buffet breakfasts were a great start to the day and we liked the vegetarian meals in the restaurant too.

We accessed both travel and business services where staff were responsive and efficient.

The pool was inviting and it was easy to spend hours alternating swimming and tasty snacks/cool drinks while reading/snoozing under a well - positioned umbrella.

The people at the Hyatt - their smiling faces, warmth and predisposition to please - helped make our Nepal trip memorable. We hope to return - to both Nepal and the Hyatt Regency!

We had a fantastic time, The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The service and facilities were out standing. The spa is recommended highly. it was all in a Magical Atmosphere and we would definately stay there again.

The Hyatt hotel in Katmandu is one of the best hotel I ever been to. The sevice and the all facilities are nice and very hosting. The food is excellence with nice varity and taste. The service is very proffesional. The SPA is nice and vith hige level of service and treatments. we spent a lot of time at the bar which offer nice selection of wine and live music. I recomned to every to stay at the Hyatt Regency in Katmandu.

it was a first visit to Nepal and Kathmandu and I had a great time staying in the hotel. I found the hotel very beautiful as you drive upto the lobby - very grand with it traditional architecture.
The hotel does live upto the Hyatt brand image that we have in Australia and I found the room, staff and services very good.

I would surely recommend a stay in Hyatt Regency kathmandu for anyone visiting Kathmandu

Hyatt Regency Kathmandu was an amazing experience. From the time I arrived at the airport where a representative from the hotel was waiting to meet me till the time I left, the service, staff, food and overall experience was fantastic. Rox restaurant has excellent food and great service - it is a must.

This Hyatt was not exactly the same standard you would expect in other countries. The staff were average at best but the hotel is clean, comfortable and has many nice amenities for the end of the day retreat after touring the city. The gym and spa were both very nice although the charge to use them seemed a bit ridiculous as did the charge for using internet. The restaurants in the hotel were all very good and the bar was enjoyable. There is a rather large casino attached to the hotel which provided a few hours of fun.
