It is good to be able to stay at a traditional small hotel rather than big high rise hotels. Soothing romantic ambiance. Cheap taxi to town and hotel provide transport at a cheap rate. The deluxe room was comfortable, restaurant staff are warm and friendly. Menus consisting of Malaysia, Portuguese Nyonya and it was ala in all a memorable stay.

Top Local Tips for Malacca

great local food try their local food .. chicken rice, Malay food, pineapple tarts, Chendol (local brown sugar and coconut milk dessert on shaved ice and some jelly) etc. Forget abotu the usual food that u used to eat. Try hunting for food around Jonker Street

Quick overview of Malacca entertainment Jonkers Street night market is worth a look. Great feeling, a few good buys and lots of tat. A singer, fire eater, fortune teller etc added to the entertainment. Sultanate palace low key but will fill up a rainy half hour and the shopping is excellent and generally cheaper than KL.
