Food excellent, Mr.Earnest Rawen was most helpful in every request we gave him, he fulfilled to his utmost abilities. He is definitely a great asset to your hotel. We shall definitely be visiting again after the hospitality and tranquillity of your lovely hotel.

Still a great hotel

from Noodlesetc
Just returned from our 2nd stay at the Sheraton Perdana, a very nice value for money resort, very nice helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. They are starting a refurb in Feb and the resort will be huge and will become a Westin, just hope it doesn't get too big. Would highly recommend for families, 3 pools, 3 restaurants and very reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. The sea facing rooms are worth paying the extra for. The beach seemed a lot cleaner than our last visit and less shelly, making it easier to walk on.

Efficiently Run

from Vardomannen
The rooms are large and comfortable, the staff seem genuinly welcoming and willing to solve any upsets. The grounds around the hotel and the pool are are beautiful and full of wildlife (monkeys, lizards, even the odd snake although you have to look very hard!). One qualm I had is about the area; there isn't much else here than the hotel itself, although there is a Yacht Club 400 metres down the road with good, reasonably priced food, and a shopping centre called "Langkawi Fair" a couple of kilometres away. (Try "Sundays" Thai restaurant here; you won't be disappointed). The second qualm I had is about the prices of food and drinks at the hotel. As a regular traveller to Malaysia, I would say that these were some of the highest prices I have ever seen. I live in Norway, but alcohol was even above Norwegian prices in their bars, despite the fact that Langkawi is a duty-free island. The entertainment in the bar was a little bit "package-tour-to Benidorm", but then you can always keep away from it if you want.

A good value resort

from UKTAdvisor
We stayed at the Sheraton Perdana for 5 nights last month. We were lucky to be upgraded on our arrival to an Executive Suite which was very spacious & comfortable. The room was maybe in slight need of being remoded, although that maybe being slightly over fussy.

The gardens and pool areas are very beautiful, the beach not bad. I was slightly disappointed that the beach furniture was a bit worn, and the matresses seemed in need of washing as well. We did visit during the rainy season so this may have accounted for this fact.

Breakfast consisted of a very good buffet in the restaurant below the reception area. The only negative aspect at breakfast was that the restaurant was not air conditioned and when we visited it was very humid.

During the evenings we dined on two occasions at the hotel's Sambar Rio 'beach' restaurant. The food served here was excellent, very reasonable & had a varied menu. The portions were of a good size as well. We found the service very good, with friendly attentive staff.

One night we took the 45min taxi journey to the Datai hotel for dinner which was a change and well worth the journey.

The perdana is Great

from Sydboy
The Perdana is excellent. Ok I will admit when we first arrived - (late in the evening after a long flight) we did think the rooms were a bit tired looking. However we soon settled into the resort and loved everyting about it, the location, the pools, the food, the service and very soon our room also seemed good because we were just having the most relaxing time. Also for all those people (like us) who might be stressing about the weather in Sept/Oct it was not a problem at all, the sun always seemed it find it's way out and the rain was always brief when it occured.

The outlook from the hotel is just amazing and the pools and services are brilliant. You will enjoy it for sure and when they upgrade to the Westin next year I great thing will only get better.

The Perfect Place

from A TripAdvisor Member
We spent 5 days at the beautiful Perdana and absolutely loved our stay here, the staff were very friendly and naturally helpful.
This hotel would have one of the best pool areas we have ever experienced, and the 30% happy 2 hours at the Pool bar was just magic,A tremendous place to meet new people from all around the world.
Buffet breaskfast catered for every taste and was outstandingly prepeared.
Rooms were large and tidy , but will need a spruce up sooner or later.
Highly reccomended.

The best place to relax and get some rest!!!

from ann_oll
On entering the hotel, one of the concierge staff hits something that looks like a gong to announce arrival - very nice. We got escorted to the lounge and brought a couple of cocktails courtesy of the hotel to settle down. One of the reception staff brought all the necessary documentation to our table, we signed what needed signing and were taken to our room by the porter. That is the first time I've been welcomed like that to a hotel - in most cases you queue up the same way you you'd do if you were trying to check in at the airport.

We were given a sea view room with additional views of the ocean pools as well and ordered our first meal of the day using room service shortly afterwards. The service was prompt and the food was great.

After taking a short nap, we decided to explore the area. The beach is lovely, loads of crabs come out late in the evening which is fun to watch. There's also a private jetty where you can dine, a water sports center, a gym (this one is really equipped), aerobics studio, tennis courts (with rackets and balls for hire) and a table tennis set. You can also hire bicycles as well. Every night, the chef and his team come up with a different set of dishes - some of which are served by the pool as well. Basically, your only problem would be finding the willpower to leave the resort in order to see the rest of Langkawi cos' everything you need is there and I must say at a very high standard.

If you go to the link below, I can confirm that all the pictures shown are a TRUE representation of how things are - it really is that ideallic!!!

The staff are extremely helpful - if you ask for something and they don't have the information to hand, he/she still takes ownership of the problem. You don't get them redirecting you to someone else which is what you tend to get with other hotels. Overall, I'd say the reason why this hotel is really good is that service is done at a personal level - you're not treated as a person renting a room but like a person they're happy to have round. You really get your money's worth.

I'd quite happily visit this resort again - no questions asked.

Peaceful, invigorating, relaxing

from Rook3rs
Stayed in a sea-facing room with a superb view over the pool area and Andaman Sea from the balcony.
The room was of a suitable size with adequate amenities.
The restaurants provided an excellent variety of food at very reasonable cost and the breakfast buffet was substantial.
With the garden area, two pools plus a children`s pool, and the beach within a few minutes of the room, this led to a relaxing and refreshing holiday. The hotel was quite quiet and there was plenty of space around the pools.
The attentiveness and friendliness of the staff was wonderful and they always spoke and smiled whenever you met them.
The shops of Kuah are only a $2 ride away.
Although the hotel is being refurbished and becoming a Westin, it is to be hoped that none of its present character will be lost.
This is a hotel which is excellent for a short, invigorating break from everyday life.

Fantastic, if u want to just relax n breathe...

from yatirahmat
We are frequent visitors of Langkawi, having been there annually. But this was our 1st stay in Sheraton Perdana.... You can get cheaper hotels which are also quite nice, but Sheraton Perdana's services is just so FANTASTIC! The view, the ambience, the place, the air surrounding it, it's just amazing. It gives u such a relaxing environment. It was just so, so good to relax in..

We were lucky we got the Spa wing, so every day there was this aromatherapy in the air-it was gorgeous!hmmmm, I can still remember the scent, just so so relaxing as we walk thru the corridor to our room..

We paid 3 times more in Sheraton than what u wud hv if u stayed in Awana, for eg, but it was definitely a difference in what u pay for. If u asked me, I think it was worth it!Oh if it wasnt for my 3 kids who had so much energy in them, I would be just lazying around at the balcony, enjoying my sea view and listening to the waterfall.....It was just so, so fantastic!

The only thing that was dampening was that we lost our kids' floaters at the swimming pool, even when we asked reception/pool boy to keep it for us(since we saw it at during breakfast, but cudnt get it since it was raining) but still, till the day of us leaving, they said they dont hv it..so that was disappointing. We thought that they'd do more for us...in that sense we feel that they just dont really care abt smaller details...I think the reception girls are nice, but in a non-genuine kind of way, it just gives me that vibes. Where as the bell boys, they are the best! They seem so sincere in their smiles, their assistance, u'd like them.

YOu MUST stay there if u want complete relaxation. However, we didnt go down to the beach, since most of the time it was raining, so we cant comment. The hotel itself was just so so so relaxing! We loved it! There were 3 pools!

All in all, it was a great place to stay in. I wud definitely go there again, maybe this time just me and hubby..

One of the best on Island

from raffelsia
I, my husband and my 4 years old daughter stayed at Sheraton Perdana few weeks ago, it was fantastic. As the choices of hotels are limited in Langkawi, you can consider it one of the best. the view from the room was absolutely beautiful and we had a visiting cheeky monkey in the balcony which my daughter really enjoyed, the swimming pools were great, specially the kiddies shallow pool, they also had fantastic Jacuzzi chairs nearby the swimming pool where my husband and I spent most of our day having water massage to our backs... breakfast wasn't bad, Samba ria restaurant had a nice setting beside the beach and served good seafood. On Friday nights they had a Malaysian BBQ buffet dinner with live Malaysian dancing show, the food was great, a lot of seafood and lobsters and the price was reasonable (around $25). Our disappointment was the beach as it is small in comparison to other hotel’s beaches, but the view was spectacular. The staff was very friendly and really helpful, as when we were checking out I forgot my video camera at the desk and remembered it only 40 min. later when we arrived to the airport, so I called the hotel and the receptionist sent it immediately with a taxi driver after she gave me his full name and his car no. mind you the weather was terribly raining but he managed to arrive at the right time.. A big thanks to all Sheraton Perdana staff, and we hope to go back soon..
N.B. Langkawi cable car is a must see.. don't forget to cross the bridge between the mountains..

not what we had expected.

from telis
my wife and I stayed in this hotel during our summer holidays.overall the hotel looks impressive and exotic but it needs to be renovated soon.check-in was very good you were just sitting in the lobby area drinking a complimentary coctail while everything was taking care of by the stuff.the romm was not to good and we had to upgrade in a suite.the furnitures and the bathroom were looking old and tired, the room hadn't enough furnitures and it was looking empty(not what someone expects from a suite in relatively high price).breakfast...i had better ones.the lobby bar was o.k. but everything again looked tired.the restaurants had good quality of food and good service but they don't keep the opening hours. for example in the samba ria restaurant(great settings next to a beautiful beach) it was closing at 23:00 and the stuff start to close at 10:00 picking tableclothes and plates with a lot of noise, stop the music etc.the stuff generally didn't know good english and it was hard to communicate with them.the swimming pools and the beach as well as the gardens were exquisit, like you are in paradise.generally the stuff exept the receptionists and one-two others were lazy and never on their place!the cleaning of the room was far below average.since langkawi doesn't have many good hotels this is not a bad choise while some other hotels we have seen in the island they were not worth staying in.
