good hotel
from female-touristThe hotel is about 10 mins walk from the monorail which takes you to many tourist attractions. Warning - the Petronas Towers are closed on Mondays for cleaning and the fountains are also off in the adjoining KLCC park. The KL Tower is open daily.
Liked it so much came back!

from yellowstarSince it was our honeymoon I was in contact to the Swiss Garden Hotel already more than a month before we arrived in order to make sure everything would be as perfect as possible when we arrive. At the time I ordered roses and the hotel managemenet announced in writing to give us a complimentary fruit basket on the room.
However, when we arrived I was surprised. The lobby didn't look as clean as the impression was given on the website. The room (a "double deluxe room" as they call it) was spacious, but not special at all. A little black animal that we couldn't identify ran through the bathroom on our arrival... As we switched on the bathroom light in disappeared quickly and was luckily not seen again.
Of course, the ordered flowers weren't on the room, nor was the well promoted fruit basket. The safe was broken and therefore not usable.
We needed to get some laundry done because we came directly from Borneo's rainforest.
Having called the reception to ask for repairing the safe and to collect the laundry they wanted to send someone immediately. After half an hour I called again because we wanted to explore KL and not sit around in the hotel... It took another 20 minutes until someone arrived... but only to collect the laundry.
The reception's excuse for the missing roses was: "The florist had some procurement problems".
To cut a long story short, we got the fruit basket at around 8pm on our last day, never received the flowers, never got a properly working safe in the room but I have to admit that the laundry was done very well and accurately.
The second night was very noisy because a couple with baby had the room next door and yelled and ran around the entire night. This was maybe unlucky.
The breakfast box, however, that we needed to get because we had to catch an early morning flight was almost offensive. It contained 2 apples, a small dry croissant, and another small dry bread. That's it...
All in all, this hotel is definitely not worth 4 stars and I wonder how it got those. I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel especially given the great and not very expensive alternatives in Kuala Lumpur.
Great hotel with great service. Friendly staff, good location, good amenities!
from MoramareThe Swiss Garden Hotel met our expectations! Excellent swimming pool with nice warm water, good breakfast buffet and even to our kids appealing dinner buffet! Absolutely a good pick and what's even better; just around the corner from everything else you need (e.g. shops, massage, sightseeing, McD...)
Cheapskate hotel
from camseanAfter having to argue to see the hotel manager (as they wereall 'managers') we eventually got the hotel to agree to the rate we had been quoted. So this was a good result.
Problems continued. I ordered ice from room service and for for the first time in more than 40 countries and 100's of hotels was charged for the privilige. Around USD2.
Not much I guess but it really sets the tone for the whole hotel: 1 toothbrush in our double room. If wev wanted the 2 the 2 sachets of coffee in the room tea and coffee facilities to be replenished there would be a charge, a big sign at the pool saying a maxium of 2 towels per room and so on.
The buffet breakfast was also only so-so. The restaurant was really too small for the size of the hotel and very, very crowded.
On the plus side the room was ok, and had a nice view of KL (although the toilet did'nt flush very well) and the location is good.
Overall good value
from A TripAdvisor MemberGreat location, value for money... recommended.
from PorkychopThe hotel reception looks quite grand and booking in was quick and simple, and finding our hotel room was easy enough. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and pretty much everything you expect from a basic hotel was provided. The bathroom had both bath and shower and was also clean.
When I took a look at the other two rooms they were just as clean however the beds were not as comfortable as the mattresses were too soft, and one of the beds had a missing wheel at the bottom so it was a bit uneven. I guess I just got the luck of the draw.
The main thing for us was that the rooms were clean and comfortable, which they were. We didn't plan to spend that much time in the rooms anyway.
Downsides to the hotel are: No iron or ironing board provided in rooms, towels were a little old, and if you have a bit of a lie in you'll have to join a ridiculously long queue if you want to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant. It's also a pity that swimming pool is slightly larger than a bath tub otherwise recreation facilities including the spa are pretty good.
I'd prefer to end on a good note because for a basic hotel this hotel did not disappoint. The hotel is in a fantastic location as it is central to good shopping centres and main tourist sights, the staff were helpful and friendly, the breakfast that the hotel provides is good, with lots of choice when you can get a seat, it is good value for money (about 185 Ringits per night - internet price) and it is clean.
If you're in KL to do the tourist thing this hotel would be a good choice.
Loved its location but disliked its service

from PepetitoHowever the location is near to everything, just in the middle of KL.
Top Local Tips for Kuala Lumpur
Mid-Mega Valley Mall The shopping area around Bukit Bintang is quite limited. You may venture to Mid-Mega Valley more, which is realy a huge shopping mall with lots of affordable bargains. We shopped there for hours and hours, and found it amazing for a mall to be this big. You need to take a train to Bangsar LRT Station, which is just a few stations away. Then there'll be a free shuttle bus by the bust stop which will fetch you there. You can do a google search on this mall, to check out their shuttle bus schedule so as to minimise waiting time.
Visiting Twin Towers One of the main attractions of KL are the Twin Towers of Pertronas. Please ensure that you visit the towers' middle bridge, which though has ticketed entry is free-of-cost. The main problem arises in it being free-of-cost because the tickets are limited and so one has to queue up to get one's ticket in advance. I missed out a chance to see this view from the Bridge because I did not have time to do so. So, ensure that you visit the towers at least a day in advance to the last day of your stay in KL. That way even if you are unable to get a ticket on that day, you can surely get a ticket for the next day (i.e. while you are still at KL)
