The hotel's address should be Jalan Conlay, instead of Jalan County. The rooms are great. The staff service is however, not up to mark. They may be courteous, but the front desk did not disseminate information properly and one may be left to make their own judgement and interpretation based on info plucked from the air. The entry to the parking lot can be confusing without proper assistance from the jockeys.

Excellent Service and Accomodation

My wife and I stayed for 10 days at the hotel. Everything was outstanding: the room with a view at the Petronas Towers was spacious, the cleanliness of our room was excellent. The breakfast, which was included in our tariff, was international, opulent and well-tasting. The service of all the staff was friendly, correct and efficient. Don´t miss the superb outdoor swimmingpool on the 10th floor, surrounded by palm trees and flowers. Everything in this hotel is well looked after and well maintained. We can recommend this hotel 100 percent

Good Hotel, Mediocre Food!!

Stayed at Prince Hotel, KL last January for 3 nights. Got a good deal via Expedia for Premier Exec Room with all the Executive facilities. The Room was nice and spacious with a view of the city. Service was top notch though we had some trouble with air conditioning on the third day.
The only drawback was the food. We had the executive breakfast at the exec. lounge which was very basic. Only some bread, danish, cereal and made to order eggs. The hotel coffee shop had an extensive breakfast buffet but that was not included in our rate as we had the executive room, which came with exec. breakfast. Also, we tried the dinner buffet once at the coffee shop for $19 p.p. Food was very bland and tasteless with almost no international variety (only malay cuisine).
Over all, a nice hotel with great accommodation and service.

Pampered at the Prince

We stayed at one of the 2-bedroomed apartments before Christmas and were treated to 5 nights of luxury. The apartment was very large with 2 good-sized bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen did not have a dishwasher, nor was there any washing-up liquid provided. Breakfast is served in a small residents' lounge and is not as sumptuous a spread as their buffet breakfast in the main hotel restaurant. But apartment residents can have the buffet breakfast in the main hotel restaurant for an extra charge. Our favourite aspect of the hotel was the friendliness of the staff which went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one especially for our 20 month old toddler who was made to feel like a princess. We will definitely stay there again.

Recent Decline in Quality and Service

I have now stayed at the Prince Hotel & Residence for just over one year, first in the hotel for a couple of weeks then in the residence section. I have experienced all of the facilities and restaurants, many times, on offer. When I first stayed in the hotel (in Dec.2005) I was quite impressed with the overall facilities and so decided to opt for the residence apartment. My only concern at this time was the poorly trained, inexperienced staff on the front desk, reception and concierge. During the course of my stay I noticed that the quality of food and service slowly declined and these are the two major problems with this hotel. The bar area on the mezzanine floor was probably the worst experience with extremely rude and totally uninterested staff. Whilst the breakfast area and evening buffet appear on first sight to be impressive with good selection and choice watch out for recycled food dished up from the day before, check the consume by date on those yogurt cartons and avoid the chocolate fondue fountain at all costs (I witnessed guests standing beside this cycling their sticks with marshmallow between mouth and chocolate). The hotel purports to serve breakfast from 6am however the service at this time is extremely poor with practically no staff on hand and no chef for eggs of any nature. The Pool side food outlet gives the best overall service however the menu is very limited and unimaginative. I decided to leave the hotel in January 2007 since the room rates were dramatically increased and I felt that the hotel could not justify this cost on the basis of the service and quality on offer. Other hotels in Kuala Lumpur offer better food, better service for much cheaper rates.

Good place to stay

I stayed at the Prince for five nights and found it to be a first rate experience and where the staff did their best to help out. Having arrived much earlier than I'd anticipated (08.00), I was given immediate access to my room and allowed to check out much later than the usual time at no additional expense. Very comfortable room (the view of the next door office block could have been better but it wasn't an issue), immaculate bathroom and pretty well sound insulated. The bar by the pool is well worth a visit because of the views over the city and it does get a breeze. Staff also extremely helpful with advice on where to go and papprently able to magic up a taxi in the middle of a torrential thunderstorm! I'd definitely recommend this hotel and hope that I'll be staying here again.

Convenient and reasonably priced

We booked this hotel for 3 nights while we stayed in Malaysia on a Far East tour. As there was a large (6000+) delegate conference on in KL while we were there, our choices were limited, so we were surprised to find that this hotel had availability, and was actually better located than some of the more expensive and well known hotels.

Being relatively new, the hotel has good rooms, facilities (including a stunning pool area with fabuloous views across the city) and a range of restaurants. It does though have only one bar, which is quite expensive, and doesn't offer any non-smoking spaces for people to choose to sit in.

The staff were freindly and attentive, despite problems at check-in.

All in all, a good hotel offering reasonable value for money.

We stayed at the prince for two weeks in April and three weeks in July. For a hotel, it truly did become a home from home! The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful - especially around the pool and in the residents' breakfast lounge. The pool area was lovely and very child friendly. It really is a 'peaceful oasis' in the city (the hotel blurb can be believed!)
Our first room was amazing - two massive bedrooms, study, lounge, good kitchen and three bathrooms with curved windows looking onto the Petronas towers. The second time the rooms were large and clean but rather dark with only one window in the entire suite (looking on to Bukit Bintang though -great view!) My advice would be to anyone staying longer than three days to book a residential suite - one of the curving rooms! Great accomodation at a great price - and wonderful for families with young children because you actually have somewhere to sit and relax or eat at night whilst the children sleep in another room! I cannot fault the housekeeping or room service- always efficient and discreet.
having been to other hotels in KL I have seen how wonderful the Prince is in its public areas - lovely light and airy restaurants and meeting areas and spotlessly clean toilets with essential oil burners giving a classy feel.
Great location - really handy for downtown but also in one of the nicest and greenest areas of KL - close to the Craft Complex and lovely old houses with gardens and big old trees- and 10mins. from KLCC.
My only slight complaint would be the food. Though nice and generous buffets catering for many different tastes, the food is competent but not outstanding. (Great room service and really cheap.)
Overall a great place to stay, short or long term.

Being a frequent traveller to Kuala Lumpur, I find Prince Hotel one of the BEST in terms of service, facilities and affordability. The large dining hall on the ground floor serves a good spread of buffet breakfast. Excellent home made French mini croissants and pancakes, a cut above th rest. For the bed rooms, the hotel provide ironing board, LAN cable for internet connection, glass shower screen complete with long bath. Astro cable TV ready with 13 channels. Well maintained swimming pool with jacuzzi and a fully equipped gym with aerobic studio. The hotel is within walking distance to convention center, KLCC, StarHill, Bukit Bintang, Times Square, nightspots on Jalan P.Ramlee and restaurants. Would return to stay again.

I Lurve This Hotel!!

I truly love this hotel! It is big! The room & bathroom are spacious! I got a view of the Twin Towers from my room. For 2 nights I slept with the curtains opened to watch the beautiful view! The breakfast & lunch buffet are - oh Gosh! Marvelous! Excellent! I wanna stay here again when I come to KL!

Very Nice Building, So-So Staff

If it weren't for the quite young and VERY inexperienced front desk and concierge staff, I'd give the Prince Hotel and Residence five stars. It's unfortunate that the staff are so inexperienced.

I had problems checking-in and especially checking out. When I checked out, the front desk clerk was really struggling with the concept that I wanted to settle my bill with cash and a credit card. It took him a couple of tries and some step by step instructions from me to get it right.

As for the conierge staff, they were incapable of handling anything but very simple tasks. They even refused to call the airport bus service for me because they claimed there was no such service. So, I had to call the bus company myself.

Perhaps the Prince doesn't pay well enough to attract veteran hotel workers.

I did get a great price on a single bedroom apartment through Expedia, which made for great value. It was odd that the same special was not available through the hotel's Web site.

Top Local Tips for Kuala Lumpur

Taxi from Airport to Hotel Go to the taxi stand after going throuhg security and once you have your luggage, ask for a taxi to your hotel you will be given a ticket, stand outside give this to any staff located outside and they will arrange the taxi to take you to your hotel. Really easy and only costs 20-30pounds.

Pavillion Shopping Centre Great place, but you could spend all your time there if you're not careful. Try the Fish Spa ! Novel experience. These fish nibble any dead skin on your feet. Very ticklish ! If you have a corn or two the fish love em !!!

getting around The hop-on-hop-off bus is a great way to see the city, make sure you get the early buses though. Due to heavy traffic during lunch time, you could find yourself waiting in traffic for hours.
