We as a family have stayed here on 2 occasions and will be staying again in just 4 weeks time. I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. It's clean, comfortable and the buffet style breakfast is excellent. If you are in transit in Kuala Lumpur it definitely is worthwhile to stay at the Pan Pacific.

Nice hotel for travel transfers

We stayed at the Pan Pacific for one night on our way home from Kuala Lumpur. The service is very good and the shuttle ride from the airport and the hotel is very nice when you are dealing with luggage.

The rooms leave a little to be desired and the bed is hard as a rock. However, it serves its purpose being so close to the airport. In addition, the work out room is nice and there is a lovely pool and tennis courts so you can get in a little exercise before your long flight home.

Great convenient hotel

This is a very convenient hotel if flying into KL with one of the major airlines (see previous review below re budget airlines).
We stayed this hotel for one night enroute to Hong Kong. You can walk to this hotel from KL Airport or they have little buggy to ferry you to the reception. When we arrived we did not see any buggies at the airport so we decided to walk. It is not very far and a good excuse to stretch the legs after an 8 hour flight from Sydney. Check in was smooth and efficient and we were upgraded to a suite which was large and comfortably furnished.
Our one only complaint is that the mattress was very hard, which we find common in a lot of Asian hotels.

Room service was prompt. We spent a quiet night and checked out next morning to catch our flight to HK.
On our return to Australia I received an email from the General Manager asking me to complete a survey. I did so and received a prompt reply apologising about the mattress and promising to update my profile so a softer one would be provided next time.

I can definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a very good hotel. It is has an unbeatable location if you're looking for a stopover between flights at KUL airport, the facilities are excellent, and the service superb. I will certainly stay here again. (The hotel is connected to the airport by a convenient walkway. Do be warned, though, that if you are flying in or out of KUL on a budget airline such as Air Asia, you won't be using the main terminal. These airlines operate out of the LCC terminal, a cab ride away.)

Stayed one night inbetween two long flights. Check in and check out were both efficient. There is a buggy service from the hotel, but it is only a 10 minute walk, and after flying for 13 hours that can only be good! The buggy drivers were all very friendly. The room was fine for our needs, the bed was hard but we slept well and the bathroom was well-equipped for a short stay. Had to make several requests for drinks and assistance in the room, which were all dealt with very quickly (we even had a follow-up call from reception to check that we had been attended to). Our room price included a complimentary drinks package, which was promptly brought to our room, and included bottles of mineral water and several cans of soft drinks (all very well chilled). The only problem we had was that there were no glasses provided in the room, despite there being a minibar. The temperature in Kuala Lumpur was almost oppressive, but the airconditioning in the hotel was so good that we were actually cold! The breakfast (again incuded in the room price) was very good, perhaps the largest buffet I have ever seen, all freshly prepared, and catering for (it seemed) every cuisine from around the world!
This is an excellent place to rest after a flight. We enjoyed our stay here and are now tempted to come back to Malaysia for a longer stay.

Brilliant hotel offering enormous, well equipped rooms. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and the breakfast offered a wide and cosmopolitan choice. The location means it is an excellent choice either for long stopovers en route or if you want to visit the city (buses go regularly from here into the town). Despite being within the airport complex all rooms are soundproofed so we experienced no nuisance from flights overhead.

We used this hotel last year as well for an overnight stay before our flight back to the UK. This hotel, in our opinion is to die for! It has been refurbished since last year and it shows. The rooms are furnished to a very high standard. The beds are very comfortable. Both rooms and bathrooms are very clean and the air con was very quiet. We ate in the reataurent, MR70 for the buffet which was excellent. It is within walking distance or a buggy ride away from the airport so it's not worth staying anywhere else. We used the pool for the first time this year and it was fine although we had trouble finding it, not very well signposted.

We would highly recommended this hotel and it is excellent value for money

good for weary travellers

arrived late with an early flight out the next morning with my husband, 2 young children and my 80 yr old father in tow. This is a very handy hotel!. Rooms were great, buggy service was a giggle . We ate in a terrible bar/restaurant which was wildly overpriced and not much fun. I would stay here again but only in similar circumstances. It is much better if time allows to get a cab into KL and sample a fascinating fantastic city.

Top Notch, elegant, convenient + good value

We came back from Sydney early, it was the early hours and we just wanted to go to bed so ended up wandering down the long corridor to the Pan-Pacific. We asked if we could have a room and they immediately gave us an Executive one on the top (Pacific) floor with its complimentary cocktails and use of lounge (including an internet facility which consisted of a solitary old PC in a very small, noisy annexe lol)! Surprisingly, the price quoted was well below the advertised rates and we had nearly two whole days there despite just booking the one night.

In contrast to other reviewers, not once did the 'golf' buggy drivers try to sell us anything. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially at the poolside + gym. All facilities were clean and modern, well-maintained and good quality.

Caveats include the strange unevenness of some of the corridor floors near the gym/pool area which might trip a few people up.

Apart from that, and the inadequate Internet room, we would recommed this hotel unreservedly - it's one of those that you could seriously consider living in!

Handy for tired travellers

Arrived late at night in KL, picked up the buggy and got dropped at reception without setting a foot outside the airport. Would not advise walking to the hotel unless you're a rambler.

No problems booking in, we had paid in advance for $88/night and were glad we had as the walk-in rate was $200/night. Room was nicely furnished, clean, bathroom had a tub and shower, good toiletries. Bed was hard but I slept like a baby. Room was very quiet.

Ordered room service it came very nicely presented, wasn't amazing food but edible. Expensive for Malaysia but what do you expect? Can get the buggy service over to the airport for cheaper beer/food if you want!

Would definately stay here again if had a short stop-over in KL. Prefered it to the Concorde Inn, but then that was half the price and you usually get what you pay for...

Stayed here in November 2005 - the hotel is attached to the airport. Its good if you an early flight but thats about it. The hotel check-in took 30 minutes, we ordered drinks in the bar which took 20 mins, breakfast was slow, need I say more. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The only other point was the water from the taps was 'brownish'. A letter from the management explained that this was due to water main repairs outside. I was assured the water was safe for washing etc. but obvioulsy not for drinking. We ate in the restaurant. Again good food but extremely poor service. All in all a disapointing stay but I only stayed here because of the airport !

Top Local Tips for Kuala Lumpur

KLIA and LCC terminals From KLIA, the express train is the way to go and on arrival at KL Sentral, if you have lot's of luggage, catch a taxi, and watch the meter. If you have only a bag or two you can either go by rail, bus or taxi to your hotel (though rail is less straightforward). From the LCC terminal (Air Asia) catch a Skybus to KL Sentral. You will be asked when you get there whether you want a bus or taxi. I caught the bus and was at my hotel in a jiffy. I found buses virtually emply. Taxis are cheap, but drivers tend to maximise the time spent getting to your destination, and trains can be crowded, with steps to climb, and the risk of pickpockets.

avoid the taxi's they are all rip off merchants - catch the train or get your conceirge to negotiate a price

Good cheap food You can get some great food from the food garden in the airport, just where the Pan Pacific golf cart pick up/drop off is, at incredibly cheap prices. This is a perfect alternative to having to eat from the overpriced hotel restaurant.
