Best unique breakfast ever had..with aromatic coffee and big varieties of food from different cultures..i went there during their promotion time and i would like to go back again for my next trip.a must try hotel!!

It's convenient for the train station. KL Sentral is basically attached to it, but the rooms are small and road traffic, (including taxis) Have a hard time of getting to/from the property

Wow!!!

We stayed for 1 night during transit and I wish edwe could have stayed a bit longer. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom has marble everywhere and the provisions of the bathroom is very luxurious. I even had a scented bath with burning aroma therapy oils! The separate show cubicle is great and has good space in it.
The location of the hotel is for easy access into KL monorails and mass transport system as well as getting into the airport. As our next morning flight back to London was scheduled at 0900, staying at this hotel enable us to leave at a reasonable time as well as checking our luggage in at Sentral Station which is located underneath the hotel. There are also great bargain for shoppers at Sentral Station. We also ate at the pools side in the hotel and the food is fantastic. The pool is large and beautiful with great tropical plants in it. We also strolled next door to the Hilton afterward to explore the SPA and it looks fantastic and the treatment are very well price.
For entertainment afterwards we went back to Hilton to listern to live music and mingled with the trendy crowd in the coffee/patisserie bar. Both the service and ambiance were fantastic at the Hilton. Unfortunately we did not have time to spend at the Le Meridien Bar.

superb hotel and staff

Stayed here on our way home from W.A. for two nights wish it had been more!! I thought I had booked a family room with two double beds but on arrival it was a double bed and a fold away bed was provided for my 13 year old son.There was not a lot of space in the room for this and our luggage and we were not happy the manager was contacted and we were offered and executive room at a discounted rate which was only about £10 more than we were already paying. The room was super although still a fold away bed in the bedroom, it was a decent bed and very comforable we had a seperate lounge so this gave us plenty space. All rooms are lovely and a double room would be fine for a couple. Great views of the pool and city. The central station is across the street from the hotel and it is a short train ride to the city or only one stop away to Mega Mal shopping centre. On arrival we got a taxi from the airport which took an hour to get to hotel. The staff informed us on our return to the airport we should get the train. A porter escorted us and our luggage to the station where we checked in for our return flight . The journey took 30 mins to the airport and was more relaxing than the cab ride. Pool is fantastic and staff very friendly. The Hilton Hotel is practically joined to the Meridien and the pool there looked even better so I expect both these hotels could be recommended. Would definatley stay here again rahter than hotel in city center considering access to city is so easy by train not cab.

Stayed here from 18/03/06 to 22/03/06. In general the hotel is very nice, and has an excellent location opposite KL Sentral train station, with good access to all main train systems around the city and beyond. Restaurant was ok the night we used it, although the service was a little slow. Breakfast was good, and included in our booked rate of £65 per night. Concierge was helpful although occasionally they were a little inexperienced! Front desk was fine, although it was annoying to find they would not accept UK£ Stterling travellers cheques, and had only a pitiful 500MYR limit on currency exchange.

Great find and so convenient

From the moment we arrived we were really impressed. We have stayed in KL several times before, usually at the Shangri-La. We chose Le Meridien this time because we were going to the Grand Prix and wanted easy access to the track as well as the centre.

The hotel was fantastic. Lots of facilities are shared with the Hilton and you are able to cross-sign at their restaurants etc. The swimming pool they share is very impressive with great landscaping including waterfalls - it's hard to believe you're in a city hotel.

We ate at the Lebanese restaurant one night and were seated in a luxurious round enclosed booth which resembled an Arabian tent. I wish I'd had my camera with me as I can't do this justice in words. As you would expect the food here is more expensive than eating outside the hotel but it's worth it. The Japanese restaurant was also very good.

Public transport is cheap, reliable and fast so it's easy to get into KLCC (Petronas Towers)and also to the airport. The Malaysian Airlines check-in at KL Sentral is also very convenient.

On our last day we checked out of the hotel two and a quarter hours before our international flight was due to leave. The porter then took our cases over the road to KL Sentral, lifted them onto the luggage belt and then went to get our train tickets for us. We took the KLIA Express train luggage-free for 28 minutes then just had time for coffee at the airport before we boarded the plane. This was a big difference to the three hour wait at Heathrow on our journey out!

We will definitely stay at Le Meridien next time we visit KL.

Good value for money

On a recent trip to Langkawi we spent 3 days at the Hilton before Langkawi and then 2 days at Le Meridien after Langkawi. Both hotels were very nice with excellent service and lovely rooms.

We arrived late at night and was upgraded to a better room since they didn't have any non smoking rooms like we requested when we booked. The rooms were nice and big with everything using little touch pad buttons instead of switches eveything was connected to a little monitor at you bedside so you could swith off all the lights and control you aircon from your bedside. Bathroom was really nice with big bath and huge windows overlooking the city

We received excellent service and a porter carried our bags down to the station when we left. The hotel is very conveniently situated aross the street from the central station where you can hop on a train to almost anywhere

Although we preffered the Hilton this hotel was lovely to stay and definitely very good value for money.

Lovely and reasonably priced

Except for the fact that Exec suites are not located on exec floors (a bit disappointing not to get the top floor views), this is a very nice hotel. Location isn't an issue as anywhere takes 20 mins by taxi in KL + the terrace shared with Hilton is probably the best spot in town. Thumbs-up, much cheaper than the Mandarin, and pretty much as nice!

Very friendly big hotel

This is a new hotel (2005) and is well located adjacent to the central transport hub of KL, giving good access to the airport and all parts of the City using the LRT or the very cheap taxis, which are plentiful. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The 'deluxe' rooms are small, but comprehensively equipped. The matresses are very firm, but we slept very well on them. Breakfast consists of wide range of interesting goodies including freshly cooked eggs, but don't expect pork sausages or bacon in this Muslim country. The hotel rated very highly with us, but still cost less than £50 per night, B&B, for two people. Fantastic value by any standard. Our only criticism was that the food in the hotel was quite expensive, but this is not a problem in KL, where there are plenty of good, cheaper, eating places in close proximity.

This hotel is located at Sentral Station with a very easy commute to/from the airport, and into the balance of the city. The hotel is very clean and a great value for money like many hotels in KL. My girlfriend and I ate at the Lebanese restaurant both nights. If I return to KL I will stay here or Hilton which is located in same complex.

My second stay here and it was even better than the first. I can thoroughly recommend both restaurants for service and quality. There's a Lebanese and a Buffet - Style that does a la Carte as well. What I like most is the friendly service - the staff remember your name and treat you like a person, not just another guest. The rooms are really comfortable and have good internet connection. There's a great Piano Bar which does live music. Thoroughly recommended.

Mixed experience

The hotel is very conveniently located next to the central station where the KLIA Express trains from the airport end. Just a very short walk to the hotel which shares the entry (and other things) with the Hilton Hotel.

On arrival my Expedia reservation had not been received by the hotel and a very long and overcomplicated procedure was needed to get me a room (involving several calls to Expedia in Europe). The whole procedure took 70 minutes and while waiting and hoping to get a room I was not even offered a drink. Staff was ok but not too friendly nor too experienced to handle the situation. Disappointing when you arrive tired from travel.

They got me a room on the Executive floor (which I had booked anyway) and the room was nice. No wireless internet though, just ethernet cable connection. Breakfast starts at 6am which was too late for me due to an early morning flight (checkin for some airlines such as Malaysian and Cathay Pacific at the central station is a great and very convenient option).

Despite the negative experience upon checkin I enjoyed very much the health club, gym and spa - they are of very high standard. The gym is a real gym and part of a sports club chain present in several Asian cities. The outside pool is huge and very well kept. The spa (sauna and steam bath) were just great to forget all the hassle before.

The whole atmosphere of the hotel is not very personal - not that I expected or need that. The facilities, however, make up for that and the overall rates for staying in such a luxury environment are relativey low compared to rates elesewhere.

Top Local Tips for Kuala Lumpur

Taxi voucher KL Sentral If you are staying at Le Meredien or KL Hilton walk to KL Sentral and get a taxi voucher from the kiosk there (just inside the door). Tell them where you are going, they will give you a price and you get a voucher which you give to the driver. I can guarantee it will be cheaper than just getting a cab (where every fare appears to 20 ringgit!).

Taxis/Monorail Always insist the meter is used when engaging a taxi. They are very cheap but will often offer you a vastly inflated price when they hear at which hotel you are staying. Some may even offer you the services of prostitutes so beware. By contrast, the monorail is frequent, extremely cheap and will quite often get you downtown even quicker than a cab.

1 uthama shopping centre What a great shopping centre. 15 min from Sentral station and there a lovely restaurants too. I can't wait to go back there
