I'm a regular traveler to Singapore. And very often stay in Singapore's Hotel.On the 16 of May 06, I try to stay in Johor for a night. As the Taxi driver introduce me to the "best" hotel in town. So I decided to drop in. As a Malaysian I thought the receptionist will welcome me. With a face of sorrow, the girlish guy greet me. And give me the rate RM260.00, As I ask for discounted rate. He told me there's no discount.
As I am carrying a lot of laggauge. I have to stay for a night. Not a good experience.Sorry to mention.

Disappointing

My husband and I were looking forward to a nice hotel stay in the Putri Pacific after hearing good things about the hotel from a friend. However we were sorely disappointed with the hotel considering the price of a room. We arrived in JB after a 4 hour drive from KL at around midnight. We managed to check in quite quickly. However...
1) No towels in the room. We had to call housekeeping to get some towels. We also noted that the shampoo/conditioner supplied was half used. We suspect the room had not been fully cleaned.
2) No room service menu in the room even though we knew there was 24 hour room service.
3) TV remote not working.
4) The sink plug hole not working. We had to remove it manually.
5) We were appalled at how dirty the bathrooms were in the hotel lobby and in Paolo restaurant. The floor was wet, there was rubbish on the floor and footprints on the toilet seat. I was extremely disappointed with this considering that this particular complaint had been put in a previous review. Obviously the hotel management does not internet surf!
6) At Paolo restaurant, I was surprised to see the conduct of 1 particular waitress who shouted out orders to the chef, and then after, shouted to another waitress to bring an orange juice for another customer! This is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant but the staff have obviously not been trained as such. We will not be staying here again. The Hyatt hotel JB is far superior.

travel time be sure to allow plenty of time if you are travelling through changgi airport, the cross over to singapore can take several hours at busy times. this may improve in '08 when the new customs building finally opens

Cheap local food and shopping Everything are all within reach, near mosque, shopping centre, Kotaraya UO, City Square, etc...

Danga Beach Great night time market place plus funfair - lots of atmosphere - but make sure its OPEN!
