Public Transportation in Cameron Highlands Not Reliable If you are a Malaysian traveling to Cameron Highlands for the first time, use your own transportation. There is a huge bus station at Tanah Rata. Unfortunately, the local bus company that suppose to provide a cheap transportation is totally unreliable - not following the schedule, long wait (at least 2 hours). The only way to move around Cameron Highlands is via taxis. Taxis drivers are not using their meters but demand a flat fee to transport a person from one location to another. Taxi drivers demand a higher fee if you are using their services from 7.00 pm to midnight. Overall, I spent lots of money to pay for my taxi fare. The local transport department should do more roundings and frequent checks to ensure actions are being taken againts these unscrupulous drivers.
