Visit Narita 'City' for some good restaurant experiences Most hotels in the Narita Airport region offer free shuttle buses into Narita itself, This is well worth the short trip but avoid those buses going via the shopping malls (unless that is what you desire!). In Narita head through the main railway station and then start to head right and you will find yourself in little alleyways (almost always safe in Japan) and small streets that abound with interesting shops and restaurants, all frequented by locals. On my visit my restaurant was mainly occupied by women in kimonos having a great time and I found myself suddenly immersed in Japanese culture. Your hotel will probably have details and a little map for you.

Airline check in Leave extra time to check in at the American Airlines desk when departing. Even the Business Class checkin was very, very slow and tourist class was appauling
