Our lovely honeymoon in Melia Bali

Very nice hotel, staff is very kind and friendly, service was fantastic. We stayed there for our honeymoon and I can only say: It was perfect. We were only disapointed about overpriced Spa. In the center of Nusa Dua you can find 10 times cheaper massages and servis is same. Swimming Pool was very nice and clean. Unfortunately, sea is very nice until noon and then sea is nowhere. Accommodation is very good, clean, nice balcony. Breakfast was amazing, we were full until evening. The hotel is quite expensive, so we always went to Nusa Dua for dinner.

This has hotel beautiful landscaping, wonderful spa facilities, and the breakfast was scrumptious. We would recommend this hotel to honeymooners, old couples seeking a relaxaing vacation and to the general publice. We however felt that the spa was a bit overpriced. Overall, we were very pleased with the facilities.

This hotel is fantastic. The staff are bought into the idea of customer service and are so friendly and helpful. The grounds and the hotel's location are second to none and the pool surroundings are 1st class. However the humidity smell in the room is a real drawback. I complained and to be fair the management arranged for a dehumidifier straight away. This helped the situation but didn't fully appease my wife. It did get better during the stay but I would have thought from all the comment recieved previously I thought the team would have acted before the "horse bolts" This aside the hotel isn't overly expensive, but when you take a 10 minute walk outside the complex you realise isn't as competative as it could be especially for food and drink. Try the Bali collection shopping centre and the fusion restuarant 10 minutes away.... they bring you back in a mini bus

I have stayed at the Melia Hotel twice a year for the last 6 years, wny do I keep going back, well it is onew of the friendliest places I have stayed throughout my World travels. The staff from the GM down to the gardeners are remarkable and genuine, a smile and a greeting whoever you are.
The Hotel itself is warm and welcoming, the grounds are amazing and there is plenty to do without having to leave the resort.The personal touches offered really make you feel like part of the 'melia' family and not just 'another tourist'This is my heaven on earth and I am proud to say I have many friends there.
All the resturants there offer a wide variety of very good food, and yes you do pay just that little bit extra but then it is classed as five star, and in reflection to other 5 star hotels I have stayed in this is by far the most value for money and the most relaxing.
Nusa Dua is said not to be the real Bali and to some extent I agree, but nothing is too far away and transport is plenty cheap enough to see the island from there. The village of Bualu offers cheap resturants with free transport and the newly opened Bali collection offers plenty of shopping.
Melia Bali to me is the most relaxing place and the only one I want to be at to replenish my soul and re-new my lust for life.

Expensive inside hotel

Lovely hotel, large grounds, very grand. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Accommodation good - big airy rooms, attention to detail, lovely large balcony etc. However, whilst very peaceful and lovely location and set on private beach, I never realised that the sea is tidal, so much of the day the sea is out and you have to walk for miles! Was very disappointed with this when we arrived as we were not told this, although it makes for good rock pooling after the sea has gone out! I like snorkelling, but it was rubbish for this too, even the snorkelling trips!
The hotel itself is very expensive, but if you are prepared to walk outside the hotel grounds there are a few market type shops and nice restaurants which are less than half the price of the hotel! And they will even take you back to the hotel personally on motorbikes for free if you have eaten at their restaurant, which is great (and hassle free, even though i went with a friend!)
Taxis are easily obtained outside the hotel and you can hire them cheaply for a whole day (they will take you whereever you wat to go, you just hire them for the day!).
It is also very difficult to get sunbeds on the beach - people put towels on them when the sea is out in readiness for its return, even though there is noone on them!

All in all, lovely hotel, but there is not a lot going on outside it (bar a few bars and shops) unless you are prepared to travel in a taxi for a good half hour, althoug this is not expensive!)

It's not europe Just remember if you want your local pub then go there - keep Bali as it should be - BALINESE The people are friendly the food and drink cheap and the country is beautiful - help keep it that way. Be respectful (probably more than you are in your own country!!)

Elephant tours there is a lot to do and see in Bali. It's a beautiful island. Without a doubt if you do nothing else, take an elephant tour. It's an awful lot of fun, and pleasant day trip.

It is Safe! Tight security checks makes you feel like a VIP. Smile at the Security Officers, they work 24hours and are strict.
