Denpasar Airport Upon leaving the aircraft you have to pay for your "Visa upon arrival" which is US$10 each for 7 days. You were able to pay in Rupiah upon request. Whilst I know we were at fault here, it was 2340hrs and we was simply told to pay for a seven day visa. We were actually staying seven nights which was eight days. Upon returning to the airport after our holiday we paid our airport tax of Rp. 150,000 each but was denied access to the gate by customs as our visas were for 7 days and we had stayed 8. There was little help with this issue other than being told that the fine was Rp. 200,000 each. We had no further Rupiahs and felt stranded in the airport. We were extremely lucky to find a representative from our hotel who helped us to get to a cash machine and pay the fine. If your hotel offers collection airside I would recommend booking this service to avoid the hassle we experienced. Avoid airport porters as they will take you to the airport's money changer where you may be exploited.

Dont even think about to rent a car. Do not rent a car......it is not safe, there are a lot of motorcycles is crazy..... It is best to go out in taxi, very cheap.
