Warm welcome, friendly & helpful staff, good choice of food and beverages, comfortable and spacious rooms - this is what we found on our trip to this hotel. Will recommend others to visit also.

I had lived in India previously, and had planned on staying in a guest house, but felt quite sick -so I booked into an executive suite (the only room available) at the Clarks. The room was very comfortable, and absolutely massive - but I was particularly pleased that the staff sent for a doctor for me, who came to the hotel. Then he took a man from the hotel to a pharmacy to get the prescriptions. I was fine in a couple of days, thanks to the hotel staff (incidentally, the doctor cost the equivalent of about 8 euros, and the medicine 6. I will be visiting India again in a couple of years and plan to stay there again. Incidentally, many/most guest houses are very basic - not much more than a hoste. If oyu are not a person who likes to rough it, stay in a recommended hotel.

I can highly recommend staying at Clarks Hotel, Varanasi as it is a “home away from home”. Rooms are very comfortable, staff always pleasant and restaurant excellent. After a day of hustle and bustle in this busy city, to relax in a quiet garden is a good antidote.

Nice hotel, good staff, paradise in the mad city(spiritual but crowded and full of pot holes) Nice food, quiet picturesque pool, just about okay rooms, diabolical beds, worn carpets but great smiles, thats what makes Clarks Varanasi. Overall just what you maight expect in the oldest living city, the oldestliving hotels (almost by the bucket).

Viewing the Ganges River It must be the most extraordinary piece of water in the world. It is really worthwhile to go on the early morning boat cruise along the ghats to see life how it has been lived over centuries. It is with a sense of awe that you realise history before your eyes.

Buddha Hotel : ITS cheap Get a Hotel near the ghats and ganges river, the touts will charge you a huge amount if you say your at the Clarks or an nice hotel I reccomend the Hotel Buddah....Cheap and nearby to ghats and shopping hotelbuddah@rediffmail.com...staff is wonderfull, get the room on roof with a view!!! Pay Auto rickashaws only 30-50 rupees to your hotel and around ..... Main Ghat has ceremony thats undescrible from 6-7 pm......beautifull and a must see!!! lots of shopping on the way there....follow the crowd!!

Stay at the Rashmi Guesthouse, the location on ghats can't be beaten. Stay at the Rashmi Guesthouse, A Palace on the River for friendly service and a great location.
