Top Local Tips for Shimla
arriving Take a taxi or toy train from Kalka ( nearest reil head). Taximen charge Rs 1200 to drop at Sunrise Villa and takes three hours. Train takes five hours but the views are breathtaking. We went by taxi and came back by train. I think this is the best option
arriving tips to Sunrise villa We travelled to this place by train. some trains do not stop at shoghi. So pls check . The owners make the arrange of pickup if you ask them to do so. we arrived by himalayan queen and alighted at Tara Devi ( excellent mountain views) . it is about 8-9 kms from Shoghi. The owners guided us on this and they arranged a taxi for us fro pickup. One of there helper along with the taxi was waing at the station to receive us. the whole thing was hassle free
Getting off the train at shoghi The Himalayan queen stops at Shoghi. So you could get off right at that station and arrange for the hotel to pick you up from there. They would of course send you a taxi which you pay for. But it is easier than going all the way up to shimla.
