The Shreyas is clean,comfortable and very reasonably priced, with double rooms starting at IRS 1800 per night. Each Room has a hot shower, large bath tub, TV (BBC CNN etc) air conditioning, and small refigerator. In addition to their excellent Thali vegetarian dishes (and complimentary breakfast)perhaps their best kept secret for the budget traveller is their very cheap smaller rooms that will sleep two people for only IRS 975 per night.
Like many restaurants in Pune the Shreyas dining room is totally vegetarian, so if you are a westerner and crave a non-veg menu for a change, then I can recommend the buffet style meat dishes only 4 minutes walk away at the Kohinoor at only IRS 160 per person.
All the Shreyas staff are ever helpful and friendly, even to the extent of going out and buying us four soft pillows when we complained about the very hard pillows seemingly favoured throughout India. Thank you to Anil, Simon, Ms. Gita and all the other staff who made us so welcome during our stay in Pune. The Shreyas is located very close to the centre of Pune.

People are honest, service is apt for the price they charge. No room for complaints, be it the cleanliness, service or reception.
My choice of this hotel is for its food. especially for it's dinner. During summer season, the pooranpoli+aam-ras's taste never leaves your mind for years..

Rooms are spacious, Management is honest and decent, Food is too good, Free and liberal breakfast, located in the centre of city, rickshaws available out side the gate, Good parking space, no hidden charges, View of greenery from all rooms. Marriages can be conducted on terrace

Top Local Tips for Pune

Meuseums, Forts in vicinity Mueseums and must see and good shopping malls, forts like Sinhagad worth the trip, Ashtavinayak temples nearby, holy places like jejuri

Transportation and weather in pune Though buses ply within the city, it is not worth waiting for them. Autos are the best bet and generally they dont harass outsiders (people from other countries / states). Pune is famous for its temperatures. During the summer, it peaks upto 38 degrees celsius. Surprisingly it also rains heavily during the monsoons. So dont forget to keep an umbrella with you all the time (summer or winter !!!)

good original maharashtrian food This place is well known for its original ethnic food. They provide modhak, and such other original food. the best i enjoyed is their kichidi.
