Worst place we stayed in India

We only stayed here for one night thankfully. Problem was we didn't have any hot water. When I raised this issue I was told it would be fixed in 5 minutes. Half an hour later it still wasnt fixed (my g/f had a shower, so I thought it was fixed, but she told me she had a cold shower). Raising the issue again I was told 5 more minutes and I was asked if it was the shower water or the tap water that was the problem (?). When I told reception it was still a problem 5 minutes later I was told an electrician would come to our room in 2 minutes. When he eventually did arrive, he stood in the bathroom with his finger under the "hot" water tap for 10 minutes. Then he told me to wait I think for 15 minutes. After fifteen minutes I went to reception instead of phoning them. Two guys there. The one I had been speaking to told me he was looking into the problem. I asked him if it was his top priority. He said yes without even looking up from what the book he was writing in. The other guy was just sitting there doing nothing. He came unexpectedly to my room 5 minutes later, to tell me they were still looking into it. When asked how long it would take he was very evasive (this is common in India. Simple questions never get answered) eventually managing an unconvincing "15, 15 , around 15 minutes" "15 mintues yes?" "... err 15, 20 minutes" "ok". 30 minutes later I had to go to reception again. The two guys had been replaced by the graveyard shift guy. He said he knew of the situation. I asked what was happening. He said 15 minutes. I told him this was the last chance. Either it was fixed in 15 minutes or I got a refund. He came across as if he were very understanding. In around 15 minutes the same "electrician" knocked on my door and tried to let himself in. He did his stand with fingers under "hot" water tap again. He did this for about 5-10 minutes. Then his mate turned up. He did the same with the shower. In about 5 minutes hot water began to flow. I thanked them and said good night. In the morning we had no hot water again. I asked for a refund from the graveyard shift guy at reception and he said he was just an employee and he couldnt do anything. Then he charged me for the rest of the money I owed him (it was 5.30am an we were checking out to go to the airport). This excuse is the worst part of the whole incident. No hot water is unfortunate. In India it happens (although this was our only experience of it in 10 days, and we stayed in cheaper accom in Old Delhi and this hotel is in New Delhi). Taking two hours to fix it after advising it would take 5 minutes and continually revisining the ETA is poor at best and incompetent and lying at worst. But to show no interest in compensation for us with the lamest of excuses was the worst. He knew we were checking out and had to go to the airport.

We stayed here becuase we wanted something a bit nicer than the cheaper places we had stayed at previously. It was the worst. They organised a taxi for us. But charged us a flat fee rather than the taxi being on the meter. When this happens you are being over charged. But it is a massive pain to constantly argue for something which is going to save you $2. When we arranged this taxi the night before we said we wanted one on the meter. Also they overcharged us for the room. We paid 4300 INR after a 15% discount. Check the prices they advertise on the website. Basically you can stay here but make no mistake that this hotel is just as bad as very low end, "hustler" hotels in India. Avoid.

This was the first time I stayed in this hotel though previous review from someone was not good. But There is no complaints. Hot water/cold water available, staff very friendly. I specially thank to Mr. Jai who helped me to book the room in other hotel when this hotel was fully occupied. In Nov 2007 only , I stayed three times in this hotel. Hotel booking thru phone was fine.
Dirty and dishonest Staff

Staff asks too much for the rooms. Rooms are very dirty. Especially the toilet and the shower. Our experience was a cold shower (even after waiting five minutes), a thin and dirty matress, lots of dust, black staines on the walls, all kinds of staines on the chairs and matress.
The staff is very polite, but that is just a trick. Be sharp here!

Breakfast is served in your room (if you want to eat in the dirt) or in the lobby (not recommended).

The mobile number of the manager: 9810554338. This number is not really helpful, because the man tries NOT to understand you.

TIP: Avoid this hotel while you can. Too dirty, prices are too high and staff is dishonest.
