You will get a room that has a stench so bad you can't sleep. Otherwise you get a smoking room on a mildewed hallway. 5 star status should be removed.

Top Local Tips for New Delhi

Ministry of Sound Ministry of Sound has opened in New Delhi, this is worth checking out as it is a world class club for those who enjoy a late night out. State of the art Martin Audio sound system that is superb.

Taj Mahal -great place-terrible drive Getting to and from the Taj Mahal can be long and exhausting. We were with Indian friends, in their car, with their driver and still the 200 or so kilometers each way were terrible. There are many hazards on the road such as animals, farm equipmnet, pedestians, bicylist, slowmoving trucks, etc. It is very unnerving and at night is almost not bearable. Allow for 4 - 5 hours each way. All this having been said - the Taj Mahal - WOW! Do not miss this wonder of the world. Somehow we acquirred a personal tour guide who was 20 -25 years old. He was inexpensive and knew all the history and the folklore. I whole heartedly recommend this because we great information and insights at every step of the way and those around us got nothing.

Great winter city Best time of the year to visit Delhi is Nov-March. The days are pleasant, the evenings chilly and everyone is generally in a happier mood...
