Scandalous! We were told this hotel had 4 stars it's not even worth 1. Unclean, soiled, worn down and we saw cockroaches in the diningroom. Terrible stay, nothing in the hotel fit the descriptrion we got beforehand.

Undaunted by the reviewers' opinions, I had already decided that this would be my hotel of choice during my 2 day communte through Delhi. Excellent location notwithstanding, the hotel cam claim the infamy of being the hotel in which Mahatama Gandhi's assassins stayed back in 1948 (room 40). A reviewer called this place a haunted house, which it very well could be. J/k!

This is the worst hotel in new delhi for sure. The toilet in the rooms is filthy. The carpet was also not clean. The silverware was pathetic with stains all over. The staff is not friendly at all.

What is wrong with the whiners that blasted this hotel? The decor was very nice, clean, and the room had a fridge! There is a lift. The staff seemed eager to please. A "beer store" and budget restaurants are just around the corner. Internet is available. Well deserving of 3 stars.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights. First of all this hotel cannot be qualified as a star hotel. The only reason I chose this hotel because all other hotels were full at that time in the Connaught place area and I had a business to do in that area. The exterior of this hotel building resembles that of a Bhoot Bangla and it looks as if the building is coming down or being demolished. The rooms are kind of small and badly ventilated. House keeping is worst and god knows if they really wash the blankets. You can clearly see terrace of an adjacent building and some construction work in progress for any room window. The staff is moody and sometimes rude. House keeping staff especially is rude. Room service was inconsistent. The whole hotel gives an eerie feeling and has the look of a Bhoot Bangla. Food is massively overpriced. And the food sucks. I would not go back to the hotel again.

i never realised that this hotel had so many bad reviews. I should have read them before booking the hotel. Well I had one nights stay in delhi and then had to go up north to Punjab. This was the nearest hotel to the delhi's old railway station. I can assure you that the hotel is as bad as everyone is claiming. But i was lucky i only had to stay there a night. The worst experience was ordering room service and finding an insect in my food. I would never stay there again in my life. 3 Star government approved. I wouldnt say its bread and breakfast standard.

I just returned from India and had the misfortune of staying at Hotel Marina. My room were dank with exposed wires in bathroom and electrical outlets. The whole place had a musty smell. The morning breakfast was an adventure. We had to ask the staff to wash to tables which still had food on them from the previous evening. The dishes and silverware were freqently dirty. To top all it off, the staff was not very friendly. This may not be the worst hotel but it comes close to it.

The most horrible lodging. Not even worth 1 star but they claimed it 4 star govt approved ?!!! The building is peeling, the room stinks, bath room extremely dirty, phone does not work let alone their claimed internet access. If we did not reached Delhi at midnight, we would have walked out immediately. Wonder how the hotel sites allow such place to be listed at all???

Last Visit:November 2005 I stayed at this hotel as a last resort.I had to attend my friends wedding at very short notice.Reading the rating as a 3-4star hotel i went ahead without any reservations. Once reaching the hotel i was amased how run down the hotel was. Paint peeling off the walls.Greeted by very rude and moody staff. On arrival to my room I noticed I was given dirty bed linen that seemed to be soiled but with lord knows with what. My toilet was stained with urine. I found long black hairs in my bathtub.

Top Local Tips for New Delhi

Be weary of reviews written by the locals. Be suspicious of reviews when it is based on a traveller who resides/lives in India or a similar country. There standards of what is a 3/4/5 star or quality hotel is different from a U.S. or western traveller. If the hotel cost is equivalent to the U.S. than it should meet U.S. standards.

Traffic safety, beggars and frienbly young men For safety don´t cross the busy roads in central Dehli, there are crossings under the road where you can walk. There are a lot of young men everywhere in the center of Delhi who seems nice and friendly and eager to help you find where you want to go for a bit of cash, they can often say that they are students. Don´t follow them. They only take you to different shops for tourists. Donate some money before your trip to a good cause in India, it´s beggars (mostly the Untouchables) everywhere small children families in the streets in Delhi, they will souround you and your heart will bleed for them so try to give something beforehand because you will not be able too help everyone there.
