Just came back from India and the swiss hotel was a highlight. It isn't too expensive (1500 rupees for a double per night) and is a perfect place for friends, couples or backpackers wanting a bit more comfort. Ideal location, tucked in the hills away from the town but close enough to walk. Its a pretty hotel built by westerners who used to live in nanital.

Service made the hotel fantastic, the rooms aren't fancy, but each night a hot water bottle is placed in your beds and the pot belly fire is lit in your room. Its very warm and comfortable. Hot water is on only from 7 - 10am, and in the evening too, but that wasn't a problem as thats the only time you need it.

Stay on the top floor and in the morning have a simple breakfast overlooking the mountains...I'd recommend this hotel to everyone.

Beautiful hotel full of old world charm. Perfect hideaway for the relaxation seeker. Not too close to the mall, not too far either.
