The place reflects the old world regal charm of Mysore. Clean, warm and hospitable.
Not much of a an event or happening place though. The staff is attentive and warm.

Not a totally bad hotel for the price. It's saving grace was the restaurant on the groung floor. The room was dark and dingy and the A/C made such a noise we decided not to use it. It was close to the palace and pretty much amongst the bustle of Mysore. As with all hotels we stayed at there was a large representation of the autorickshaw crowd waiting outside plying for trade. We used the Ambassador cars instead to look around. This is a good cheap place to bunk down if you only want to sleep there. There was no bar or entertainment but there are enough bars and other reataurants around to keep one interested. BTW, did I mention the ice cream shop in the courtyard? Honey and date was the best. Would I stay there again? I'd have to think about it.

This hotel provides good service. The staff are helpful. This is an old hotel and hence the rooms look a bit old and unlike the current brand of chic hotels. But the rooms are v. clean and neat. It has a restaurant attached to it, which provides good south Indian food.

Top Local Tips for Mysore

Arrival, departure It's very convenient and not at all that expensive to get from Bangalore to Mysore via AC bus, roads are really good for India standards. Mysore train stations also has a credit card queue, so you don't have to wait to long for a ticket if you have a credit card. The Shatabdi conncection Mysore-Bangalore-Chennai is also really great. I guess I never got that much to eat on a train. ;-)

Famous for dasara Mysore is a wonderful place for sight seeing since it has a number of places to visit like museum, temple, zoo and many many historical places and is very famous for dasara celebrations.
