I have stayed in the SnS very many times over a lot of years and given the choice (sometimes fully booked) i would stay here rather than any of the "chain" hotels in the city. it's a small beachside hotel with friendly staff a lot of whom have worked in the hotel for decades.the rooms are clean and functional, the bar is good as are the resteraunts but by far the best feature is the pool and terrace. the only reasons that i mark it down are that sometimes the refurbishments go awry and it was better when Jimmy D'sousa was the general manager.

The staff was very cordial and helpful. The restaurants were very good, and the price was reasonable. The room was comfortable, but I expected a bit more luxury. There was a large celebration taking place on the beach one night, which made it difficult to sleep, but this was no fault of the hotel. I am going back this year and will stay here again. As a female traveller, I felt very safe and secure at the Sun N Sand.

Top Local Tips for Mumbai

Shopping Clothes are so cheap - and it's great to get any necessary alterations done immediately.... at NO extra cost! The driving in Bombay has to be experienced to be believed!!! It's hysterical! - Everyone is so good natured though - no one minds that people push in/carve you up/constantly hoot at you! They all just seem to do whatever they want! Actually a welcome relief to the UK that has become so preoccupied with what we CAN'T do these days...!!! If you want a quiet holiday though, head to Goa - definitely swerve Bombay!!
