Historical Traveller Reviews of Hyatt Regency Mumbai Hotel
Nice Oasis
from M747Back to our room at the Hyatt, it was modern and nice, a little on the small side and the bed was not really a king size but very comfortable. Plasma TV and all other amenities you would expect were present, including free internet since we were on a club floor. All in all a great hotel that delivers what you would expect from a top end Hyatt, But it is 1 hour from the centre (Gate of India) if that’s were you want to be.
1 night stand
from FairwindTravelexperience.
Very new property. In the current new Hyatt corporate
style. Sleek, stark, minimalist. Security checking bags and a metal detector before entering the lobby.
Room was beautiful in the current idiom of clean
lines almost cold but not quite. Hardwood floors , neutral tones on walls. Bathroom with rainhead shower and separate tub
complimented the room.
Unfortunately, we didnot stay long enough to enjoy all
this property offered. The Glasshouse restaurant
adjacent to the open lobby did showcase a very
attractive and appetizing buffet.
The front desk check in and check out was efficient
and pleasant. Quite diiferent from our experience
at the Hyatt Regency in Delhi.
Close to the Mumbai International Airport.
Expensive...New York, London expensive.
nice hotel
from lovethelakevery nice but very pricey
from randomtaskThe reception area once inside the hotel is indeed grand and very beautifully laid out - huge open plan view, finished with glass, marble and to a high standard. You can see through to the spacious dining areas. Rooms are modern and finished to an excellent specification. Large and comfortable king/super-king sized beds, plenty of storage space. And the bathroom is very nice- I've never seen a glass sink quite like the ones they have here. Nice step down shower area and bath too.
Food is very good - both the Indian cuisine and the highly regarded Italian. Service is professional and very efficient. No shortage of staff on hand.
The only gripe is the cost - it was very expensive for just a few nights, and while you certainly get a pleasant stay, the bill is a bit of an eye-opener. Good thing it was on the company expenses.
Will definitely consider staying again if my work takes me to Mumbai again in the future - just hope it's during a cheaper time of year...
An oasis
from almirahThe pool area is wonderful, a large exeptionally clean pool with nice teak furnishings, and again, an extremely helpful attendant and lifeguard.
We spent 5 nights and then upon our return for 2 at the end of our trip many of the staff greeted the kids by name and brought them treats. The room was stylishly simple, with high quality linens and towels and the bathroom was luxurious.
Truly a flawless hotel.
ll be surprised
from JoelinLondonThis place rocks.
It’s less than five minutes away by car from the airport. (Either taxi, or Hotel limo) Incidentally you don’t have to arrange the limo at time of booking as there are always Hyatt staff waiting at the pick up point, post exiting the airport.
Upon entering the Hotel you feel welcomed, as everyone says hello, and smiles. Check in is painless and relatively fast. All the staff speak English very well.
The rooms are gorgeous. However the best part has to be the beds. If like me you like your sleep, then you’ll love the beds here. Large, firm and just the right side of snug.
Food. Awesome. Remember you’re in India. I’d always recommend eating Indian. The buffet is available everyday. There is a good selection of dishes mainly Indian; varied regionally, and also a selection for a more global pallet.
Besides the buffet, there is a good standard Italian.
A word of warning. Desserts. Try the flourless chocolate cake. It’s totally yummy. As were all the other desserts available.
There is also a bar, where I enjoyed many lychee Margaritas. The wine list is not what I’d call extensive, but what they have is very good. Try the Indian Sula; a Sauvignon Blanc will be a good indicator if you want to try Indian wine. I thought it was pretty good.
Customer Service excels. These people want your business, and want you back.
You can use the gym, the pool and have a sauna and massage, all done very well.
Yes it’s an airport Hotel, but it does what it does so well.
Incidentally I also tried the Grand Hyatt, a further 30 minute (at least) ride through Mumbai traffic.
For me The Grand didn’t compare to the Regency.

Great services!
from liewbRoom is big and comfortable. The marble bathroom is very clean. But there is not much of a view from the window.
Staff are very friendly and services are very quick! The room-services, laundry and conciege all provided very good services.
The restaurants offer generally very good selection esp the Italian restaurant.
Disappointing
from FrequentFlyer123The decor is modern and quite 'hard edged' - lots of glass, leather and timber flooring. Nice, but not that comfortable. For what you get, it's EXTREMELY expensive - I was there for a 4 day business trip and the bill was far more than the value received.
An aspect that really irked me was the constant 'upselling' by the staff - from Reception, to Room Service, to the Spa. It bordered on harrasment and was very wearying. This is NOT good service.
Great Hotel
from JenM72Top Local Tips for Mumbai
Weather man says... From January to early March are the best time to travel to India with temperature averaging 68 - 75 Fahrenheit and low humidity.
Weather.. traffic.. If you're visiting Mumbai, it's best to avoid the rainy season (July-Sept). The rain might cause flood or severe traffic problem (not that Mumbai traffic needs any help in that dept). Apr and May will be the best time for mangoes, the best grade is Hapus. The fruits are usually pack in boxes of 12 and it's very easy to carry. Traffic is extremely chaotic in Mumbai. The easiest and safest way is to organise a driver from a local agency. The driver will be available for the whole day and the price is relatively cheap. One drawback is their English might not be up to par. But you can always get the conceige at hotel to translate before you set off in the morn.
Be careful Be very careful about ur personal belongings
