Rangoli restaurant is comfortable. Hotel provides all amenities without loosing its traditional look. i will definitely prefer this hotel if i visit manipal again.

We had a comfortable stay at reaonable prices. Breakfast buffet was very elaborate. Hospitable staff and good service. Facilities like massages and their swimming pool were also nice. Highly recommend it if you have to stay at manipal!

Neat & clean room, though the facing was poor but still was very comfortable. Awesome breakfast layout & equally amazing buffet for lunch & dinner. Still you guys can improve the ambience of the coffee shop.try & make it more lively. Staff at reception & room service were pleasant & dutiful.

I was pleased with the size, quality of furnishings the general cleanliness of my room and the quality of service. The breakfast selection was amazing. I stayed in a section that was undergoing renovation so the corridors were a bit cluttered but my room was great. I have traveled extensively in the US on business and have sometimes stayed at 3 star rated hotels and Valley View definitely compares favorably. During my stay I communicated only in English and the staff didn't have a problem. I was surprised to read the reviews by other guests. I must have either been really lucky or the staff have really caught up on their English.

We stayed in an upgraded room which was wonderful. I work in Hotels and I thought this hotel was fabulous for the price and certainly they are trying to upgrade. Some points which need improving are, delivering a sofa bed with no sheets, pillows etc, delivering warm wine and my biggest problem is trying to get some clothes which we left behind sent to us. If a Hotel wants to be called international it really needs to focus on its English - if the staff don't like it, too bad. Even at our Hotel I am training the staff to be able to communcate with the guests so they can make a connection with them which in turns makes everyone happy. Overall, we were grateful to stay there after looking at other hotels in the area. Also this hotel has a good Gym and Pool area.
Poor Service and Dirty

Although this hotel is the best in town, it is not comparable to US standards. The staff does not know much English and does not care to accommodate for the guests. The resturant Cosmo, has a good breakfast but most items on the menu are not available and the others do not taste good. Rangoli is average but servers are lazy and it will take hours to get your food.
Quaint Hotel with Good Internet

Quaint hotel located hear hospital, with marble floors and real wood on elevator walls. Room was spacious with nice Sony TV, comfortable AC, had a convenient desk with good wired internet access and a decent sized bathroom. Ate a good breakfast every morning of 3 day stay from buffet in restaraunt off lobby... had excellent strong coffee and good mix of Indian and International dishes. In evening the same restaraunt catered to college crowd (noisy). Hotel staff a bit rusty in English, but met my needs. Can't comment on rates, as local company paid for my enjoyable stay there. Not familiar with any other Manipal hotels, but certainly would stay here again.

Comparable to american standards this hotel is crap. The service is bearable but could be improved, the rooms aren't very clean. Although this hotel has some bad points it is the best one in town, and the rest like Hotel Ashlish and Hotel Greenpark are very unsafe and have very very bad quality service.
Great service and very neat
