Spice Market Be careful where you go to buy your spices, many of the shops are for tourists and their spices are stale and old. You need to look for 'loose spices' which looked fresher. We ended up buying ours out of Kochi in a small supermarket for a fraction of the cost and 100% fresher.

Sari buying If buying saris in Kochi go to the main town (not Fort Kochi) and go to Jaya Lakshmi on the Mohatma Ghandi road, amazing selection and really helpful staff.
