Ferries Use the public ferries to visit different parts of Kochi. They are cheap, vibrant, and you'll have wonderful views of the city and the bustle of waterborne traffic. Far better than travelling by road! If you are staying in brash Ernakulam, use the ferries to visit the Fort Cochin area: touristy, but with some well-preserved buildings to give a flavour of what once must have been before insensitive development took over.

Taxis Taxis cost you a flat rate of 1000 INR, either for 8 hours or 80 kms of use. Getting around in Kochi can be expensive if you don't use autos or boats for that matter.
