I thought that the price was great for the stay. It was worth every rupee.
Good, but not worth the price

We did our booking thru Ms.Vaishali who promised to give us a nice VALLEY facing room. As we reached the hotel, the place was thundering with loud music of some conference party in the restaurant...and we came all the way from Mumbai in search of this quiet place..! Rooms and toilets were clean but the bed was dissappointing..there were two single beds attached to make one double bed with a huge VALLEY in between...now we know why the hotel is named VALLERINA ! However the hotel staff made our stay comfortable thanks to their charming hospitality. Food was good. We were lucky to experience the changing weather..in a span of three days it changed from sunny to rainy to foggy...The distant waterfall was a saving disgrace...it was disgusting to see the litter and garbage strewn in the valley from the opposite hotel..the groups of monkeys which played on the trees amused us..in short, due to the weather and surroundings it was a pleasant stay.
Vallerina ... a disappointment..

Reason to visit : We decided to celebrate our first marriage anniversary at Khandala on 15th July since it is close to Thane and it was raining heavily during that period. After checking lotsa hotels on Internet and here on MS, decided to stay in Vallerina.
Bookings & Reservations : We did our bookings from Mumbai Office (Ms. Vaidhali Nair). We requested for second floor room. There were lotsa phones from me to Vaishali, to Khandala reception for reservations (I don't why Mumbai Office was not so interested about their customers). At last we were told that our booking is confirmed and I paid Rs. 1000/- as advance (total package was of Rs. 7650/- for 2 Nights 3 Days). We were OK with the price with the expectation of good room, nice scenery.. and yes for "the valley attached".
Arrival : We reached there on 14th. The second flr room was not cleaned up so we asked to stay in a temporary room till 2 pm. In the anticipation of nice room on second flr, we went upstairs... but alasss. The room was same as the down one... no special view .. nothing. In this disappointment, I spoke to Vaishali again, but got some awful answers, which were disturbing our anniversary mood so decided to be happy what we had.
View & Location : There is a small stream passing by the hotel coming down from Mumbai-Pune highway. Lots of trash, junk garbage thrown in the area front of the hotel rooms can be observed from windows (so called 'valley attached'). Positive things about location are view of a remote waterfall and dense fog that enters in your room. The continuous stream sound nearby has really soothing effect. The hotel next to this hotel (a gujarathi one.. not so professional) has very nice valley facing terrace, they allowed us to go there and take some photographs.
Hotel Room & Staff : The positive thing about hotel is staff. Right from front desk to bellboys, all were very polite and quick. No complaints at all about the staff except arrival experience & Mumbai Office. They also arranged a nice anniversary special cake for me to give a sweet surprise to my wife.
Hotel ambience is good though the rooms are not so impressive. They should make rooms bit more attractive at least by coloring them. Both the rooms we stayed were colored pale off white. Toilets and rooms were clean.. thanks to the staff again.
Food & Restaurant: Food was good in the restaurant. Again not valley facing even though they claim it. Restaurant service in room was also good.
In conclusion, the hotel is good if you are going there for site seeing. Roam around Khandala and Lonavala through out the day and come back here for sleep. Not at all good for romantic rainy season if want to enjoy by staying in hotel. For the reason we were there, it has less value for money. We will definately not think about this one next time we visit Khandala.
