Walk in the Village You can get a guide from the resort to take you on a walk around the village. You will visit the boatyard near the resort where they are building new boats for tourists, in the traditional manner. You will also see children and families. Take some cheap pens with you as the children desperately want pens.
Get a taxi from the hotel Don't waste your time settling for a hotel like Coconut Lagoon which is old, run-down, too expensive for what it offers. After seeing the Radisson Plaza at Kumarakom and Kumarakom Lake Resort, you will find Coconut Lagoon very sub-standard, much like the food there. KLR is the best value for your money, and if you want an ultimately luxurious holiday, go to Radisson Plaza.
