One reviewer said "awful' & gave 1, others gave good reviews; it all depends on what sort of room you get. We were at a conference & were booked in buy the organisers; those who got top floor rooms in Sayaji Grande were fine - comfortable, well appointed etc; if you were downstairs (like us) hard beds, dingy rooms, more like a hostel. service was good, polite, & the staff helpful. Food in the a la carte poolside restaurant was excellent. If you can't get into the Grande bit, I wouldn't stay here.

Sayaji Indore has set a benchmark in hospitality in Indore. Personal Butler service, all amenities and great food is the hallmark of this hotel.
A mercedez drop to the airport was the icing on the cake.
There is room for improvement, specially at the Hotel shop where items are priced too high. More over staff can be a little more professional.

As compared to other hotels/restaurants at Indore, Sayaji has the best food. It has a very reasonable price. One can enjoy the money worth food here. The best varieties of Kababs can be found here.

Very well appointed, well staffed with plenty of capable, helpful people. Banquet rooms for rental for business meetings. Excellent restaurant with very good menu, extremely reasonable prices. Coffee shop. Area for children and teenagers to play, bowl, eat pizza; all with guards to keep an eye on things. Large pool. Outdoor restaurant with varied kabob menu, meat and vegetarian dishes, rotating every night, plus buffet. Local people frequent this outdoor restaurant with live Indian music. Rooms are a bit small, but very serviceable, with bed, couch, chair and table, computer with broadband internet included. Classy place. Best place for business presentations. Excellent also for families with kids. Safe, secure, immaculately clean. Bargain with them, you should be able to get better prices; but even at full fare, it's a bargain.
Service at the hotel was excellent

Great Hotel with Great Service

from jeetchadha
We were at Sayaji on a Marriage in Sayaji. Our whole marriage party was booked at this hotel by Khuranas for their daughter Aanchal's Marriage. All arrangements done by Sayaji was superb. They provided us a floor so that other clients may not get disturbed. We had a great stay over their. My room was #312. Rooms were clean and had all the ammenities. Best thing was they provided secured Wi Fi as a complimentry. It saved my bill bill of internet usage during 3night stay. All fuctions at Sayaji was well decorated and food was excellent. Kids loved Bowling alley, shooting. While we adults spent quality time playing snookers and sipping drinks at their poolside cafe. This hotel complex is a huge complex of 30acres having even bedminton and tennis courts. Staff was courtious and also served us food in our rooms at very odd hours. We all really enjoyed our stay and wish Staff and Management very good luck.

The most uncomfortable beds

from Sunshine_Reggae
I've stayed at the Sayaji 3 seperate times for business trips. The Sayaji is definately a better option than the Fortune Landmark but still leaves a lot to be desired.

For instance, the beds are quite possibly the hardest I have ever slept on (and I'm not that fussy) However worse than the beds are the deceiving duvets. I say deceiving because they look like they would be light and fluffy but are in fact heavier than the lead blankets they give you when you go for x-rays.

The rooms themselves are fairly clean but are pretty stuffy. Also, I'm sure they don't change the bathroom toiletries after each visit as the bottles are always partly used.

If you stay on the business floor, there is a nice breakfast lounge and the Kebabsville restaurant is great for dinners.

If I had a better option to stay in Indore, believe me, I'd take it. But until a new hotel comes along, it's still better than the others in Indore!

from ABHISHEK1972
I had been visiting Indore regularly since last 2 years and most of the times I stayed at Sayaji.Last I was there during March 2008.

Hotel is a good one though outer feel is now a little tired and dated. Rooms are very spacious and good with LCD and free Internet connectivity (This is only available 5th floor and above, i stayed on 6th floor).

They provide complimentary pickup and drom from airport and last time surprise package was a pickup from airport in a Mercedes as normally they send a Toyota. Food has always been great at the buffet and being in higher grade room, I had access to 7th Floor lounge where seating arranngements and views are good.

Their poolside Kebabsville is also good but it is the same menu over and over again, so after one or two visits I stuck to their Buffet restaurant.

In Indore this is the best and Hotel could do with some refurbishing.

Superb Sayaji.....

It is the Best option at Indore in fact the whole of central India. At affordable prices and offering value for money. Facilities and services are commendable. Stay in Grande 7 with Mini Gym and Lounge on the same floor and the services of a personalised butler make you feel like a Maharaja.

If you are a non-veg snacksl over then you will get mouth watering Kababs and snacks of all sorts at poolside KabasVilla. The Spa, Entertainment Zone, Health Club, "GoBananas"...the Bowling Alley, Excellent tasty food options, Airport Pick-up and Drop by Chaufer Driven Merc.

To be able to experience all this and much more you have to stay there once. I bet you will write a better Review than me.

Hats Off

from vandan4u
I must have stayed atleast 5-6 times and than I am writing review. My stay has been for a day to maximum 4days. Airport/Railway station pickup is always punctual & well trained drivers are always visible at the gate. They confirm to you on previous evening about your coming and the meeting point at the Airport/Railway station. The car provided for the pickup/drop are among the best in the market. I have got Corolla and Mercedez on my trips so believe the range is such.
The check-in is very simple and takes few minutes. If you are staying in `Grande’ you are like king. You just walk in your room and butler will come & will do the necessary formalities of check in.
Rooms are with all the modern amenities. Unique is each room has a computer with unlimited access to Internet. In this time most of the business travelers carry laptops they provide daily internet access card absolutely free. I think this one is the only hotel in India which provides free usage of internet. All the rooms have LCD TVs,refrigerator, safety vault etc. etc. At present first three floors are under renovation.Even the toiletries are of the best quality.
Apart from airport/station pickup/drop they also drop you at your work. It is on carpool service and the timing are fixed. With pathetic Indore autos it is always better to take this service.
The facilities at the hotel are amazing. Four theme restaurants apart from bar and food stalls at the entertainment zone. Hotel has full length 4 strip bowling alley.I think this one must be the only hotel in India with bowling. Disco is open on Friday-Saturday-Sunday. Food is just too good, both in quality and variety. Buffet breakfast is just a treat to enjoy. You can not have three meals here in a day as they are so sumptuous and the range is astonishing. Range of salads & desserts are enough for the meal. And the best thing is it is most reasonably priced. Barbe que & Kababs are best and for non vegetarians it is a delight. They have started the chain of restaurants named `Barbeque Nation’ all over India. Live performances at three different locations playing different types of music is again unique and I don’t think any of India’s hotel offers this.
I don’t remember the exact number of banquet facilities in the hotel but I think it is around nine halls, open air gardens, terrace garden venues etc. The facilities in banquets are all which are required for the meeting. Ofcourse I will not give full points in this as banquets needs renovation and the staff is also not enough competent. Facilities are good but needs better administration.
Now the experience in `Grande’. Grande has all together different class. In the hotel 5th to 7th floor are `Grande’ floors. The lift is separate, lobby are stylish decorated. The Lounge is a place you feel like seating with huge size window facing the garden.Indore has hardly any tall buildings so from 7th floor you can see major part of Indore. The buffet breakfast is served for `The Grande’ guests and other wise ala carte lunch & dinner is served. Personal butler takes care of your room services. The reception area on each floor and the receptionist are always willing to serve you. Fruits, cookies, soft drinks,tea/coffee sachets are kept in the room and replaced as many time. The console on the bed side for lighting, cooling,do not disturb, alarm everything in one.It was real convenient thing.
With the facilities provided the rates are very reasonable. Around Rs.3000 for normal room for single bed and around Rs.6000 for `The Grande’ is value for money.
Hats Off to Sajidbhai (Promotor of the Sayaji group)

Not the best in all respect

from dabboo
I feel SAYAJI has good rooms only on 6th and 7th floor i.e.above 6000 INR per night. Deluxe and efficiency rooms,3200&4500 INR are fitted with latest gazets but are bit small. the attached bathroom particularly is quite small. Restaurants are good.. tTarrif includes car for 80 kms in Delx room. The hotel fits more for a business traveller .

from Jorges
Stayed at Sayaji for one week on a business trip. Room on 5th floor, with access to Executive Lounge for breakfast. Room is nice, with extra little sofa. Big surprise was PC with free Internet access, and also the flatscreen TV. Bed was rather hard and a bit short (probably 195 cm). Feeling of the room was, overall, pleasant. It was too cold, though, since the regulator of the aircon didn't work properly (not possible to reduce the speed), and without it quickly becomes unpleasant.
Amenities in the hotel are okay. Main restaurant offers buffet lunch and dinner of good quality and with lots of variety. Poolside restaurant offers barbequed food, some of which is extremely hot.
Now the but's. First, food poisoning. One night was spoiled by several trips to the bathroom after dinner at the poolside restaurant. One colleague had same dinner and same problem. On another day, picked up something that led to serious diarrhea, though in this case I'm not 100% sure that it was the hotel's fault.
Second, variable quality of service. Room service forgetting to restock towels. Room service forgetting to wash up the tea cups and restock the minibar. Staff at restaurant who don't understand "coca cola" and don't consult another colleague, so that 15 min later there's still no drink.
Conclusion: The physical structure is mostly nice, but in terms of management there's room for improvement.

The locals say, and I agree, the Sayaji is the best hotel in Indore

from Pilgrim1963
I stayed at the Sayaji for 5 days and when I left I wrote a letter to the management and said that the staff had treated me like family. Good Indian hotels have very well trained staff, and this is certainly a good example. In particular, the woman who heads up the staff for advice to business travelers was particularly helpful in helping me advertise and set up business meetings at the Sayaji. In addition to nice rooms to rent for meetings, they have 3 restaurants. One of them is poolside, where they serve fresh-off-the-grill kabobs, meat or veggie, every night, with live Indian music. The kids have a place downstairs with motorcycle video rides, a bowling alley, a pizza place, a bakery, a chinese food place, pool tables, and electric bumper cars. The prices are excellent for this category of service. Computer with free broadband in every room, plus wi-fi hotspot in the lobby. The local businesspeople frequent this hotel, the best site -- though there are other good sites, like the nearby Fortune Landmark -- for business meetings. A very safe place to bring a family; a very prestigious place for business gatherings.
