Gwalior Fort and the royal palace Allow at least half a day to visit the Gwalior fort which is full of history, and commands an impressive view over the city. A knowledgeable guide is of paramount importance. The son-et-lumiere show at night is worth going to as well. The museum area of the royal palace has some interesting artifacts - the decor is somewhat over the top, but intriguing nonetheless. There are several Jain and Hindu temples seething with Indian gods and goddess, all beautifully and intricately carved.
