Carefully choose the time you arrive Like most Indian cities the traffic can be terrible. Try avoiding arriving during rush hour (0600-0930) and (1700-1930)
Take a direct plane to Chennai.. If you are coming to Chennai directly from abroad, I think it would be better to fly directly.I took a flight to Delhi and used Jet Airways to fly to Chennai. The plane was not so bad, but to change terminals I had to struggle past the taxi mafia and find the bus for transferring to internal terminal-extremely uncomfortable and dirty and very unsafe-and then had to pass the overcrowded noisy,and unorganised security check to take the internal flight.The transfer took 3,5 hrs,and I was nearly missing the plane.The same goes for the way back.The aeroports in Delhi are at very low standart for services, just few small shops that sell food-mostly chips etc-not any place to even sit down, extremely dirty with constructions going on everywhere. Needless to say no indications or signposts.Took me longtime to discover that actually there are two laounges on both sides of the entrance door and that is why my plane was not on any of the remaining unbroken two arrival-departure panos.

Day 1 - Called up the hotel to make a booking apparently no rooms but my secretary managed to get a room at the same time online, understandable but still inconvenient.
-After the bookings done at 9am call the hotel and get connected to the director of rooms who happens to be very arrogant on the phone and requested for adjoining high floor rooms with a baby crib in one. Ask for executive rooms if possible for an additional charge but as per him this category of rooms is all over the property so does not guarantee a high floor. Also we ask what would be an ideal time to c/in and very arrogantly I get a reply that c/in time is 12pm and rooms would be ready than.
-We arrive at 3.30pm and still rooms are not ready. Than we get these rooms around 4.30pm on the 2nd floor not adjoining no baby crib, we ask for executive floor on charge but apparently cannot get it as only the 7th & 8th floor are assigned but very contradictory to what the rooms director Varun told me on the phone. So we move in to the 2nd floor rooms temporarily, phones don’t work there and miss 3 business calls thanks to that!!!!
-Anyway we ask for a higher floor and are promised the same, after an hour come down to check and meet Visant (Duty Manager) who assures all will be sorted and in place. But then come across Varun who very arrogantly advices me that he is the DIRECTOR OF ROOMS and he knows best and no good rooms are available and so on. And will try to get rooms on the 5th floor but still don’t hear for an hour and as the phones are not working call back to the hotel via cell only to be arrogantly advised again by Varun that we will check so again come down and then someone is sent…..at last at 6pm we check in….
- In our room now and ask for someone to come and get our baby bottles sterilised and still waiting after ½ an hour for the right department to sort it as already 2 guys have come through and at last someone from pvt dining is sent.
Day 2 - No hot water in the room, when asked how we sort it out we are asked to call guest services and we get hot water delivered in BUCKETS...5 star hotel!!!!!!!!
- No turn down service both day 1 & 2 so call again and than its done.
-Go to the pool no attendents after 30mins someone shows up again very indifferent have to ask for towels,no water offered...nothing....we clean our bed with a towel ourselves as it had rained and try to enjoy...
Day 3 - Order food via room service for my son, takes them 2 hrs to deliver!!!!!. Call the SPA to book a treatment no one picks up, after leaving 4 msg's with guest services no one comes back so miss out on it.
This was our 4th stay in this property and the property has gone to the dumps literally in the last year. All bathroom fixtures are rusted, paint peeling off, etc.
Attitude of the team from being friendly & courteous has gone to indifference. Not surprising after meeting the Director of rooms (Asst. GM) when we asked him that we would like to meet the GM are told that in case it’s to complain he is very busy with back to back meetings and won’t be able to meet him which actually happened even after we left a msg with his sec, as well sent a mail to him during our stay!!!!!!!! and for all this we paid almost $250 per night per room for 2 rooms for 3 nights!!!!!!!!!!!!Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
