We had booked 10 rooms at this hotel and paid an advance of Rs15000 in cash a week before our stay from 28 jun -04 jul 09.before reaching there the sales manager M L Mahesh created a problem about the Room rate and once we agreed to the new quoted price he offered us to stay at an another hotel, because he had already cancelled our reservation or we were told to stay till 02jul and then move to another hotel.

We reached Chennai and stayed in Hotel Chariot (a good hotel nearby) and asked him to refund our money else we shall take the hotel to consumer court. The sales manager (M L Mahesh) whom we had always been speaking agreed and then again started the red tapism it seemed as if we were approaching a Govt office to seek refund (even IT refund is easier to get).Finally with no other option we barged into the hotel on the day we were leaving Chennai (on 04 jul 09) and got the refund back.

The staff is shameless and inefficient. I still have a zerox copy of advance payment and the mails regarding confirmation of booking. You can mail at prabhash3@gmail.com to get a copy of the documents and can verify the authenticity

This hotel is wonderful! The reception desk are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet is quite nice. The Thai restaurant on the first floor is excellent. The location is a bit out of the way for downtown Chennai, but it's near the suburban railway line, and call taxis can be arranged through the reception desk. A lot of people will appreciate the relative calm of this neighborhood.

Top Local Tips for Chennai

Beaware of the cabs and auto drivers Its a very joyfilled city with old heritage and lots of places to visit. Taxis are easily available and are quite cheap too, but if they know that you are not a local they will try to rip you by charging a hefty amount. The language is definately a problem so its better to ask the front desk to arrange for a taxi.

Jewel Hub Chennai is the best place for Jewels. It offers best jewels for a reasonable price. And Kanchi Pattu Sarees here are world famous. I recommend Chennai a shopping spree for all marriage needs.

try the local bus transport chennai is well networked with the local bus transport.If you know the route numbers, and could afford the waiting time, then you could travel to any part of chennai at least cost. During peak office hours, it will not be possible even to get into the bus
