Historical Traveller Reviews of Phoenix Park Inn Resort Hotel
A decent hotel great location
from ruthfaThe room was nice and large and had fridge with mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities, this was not always restocked and on several occasions had to telephone for some. There were some easy chairs to sit on with a coffee table and loads of channels on the satellite TV to choose from. The room had air conditioning and a fan (a must in April) but it was very noisey (like sleeping with a helicopter above you). Breakfast was included and was OK, the best thing about it was definatley the fresh omlettes they cooked in front of you which were lovely. The rest of the breakfast was not overly appetising but was suficient. The hotel has a bar which was nice in the evenings. The pool was also OK but very very crowded by people who spent their whole day there. So there was some sun bed reservations going on!. We were on the fourth floor of the hotel and it was OK but very tiring in the heat walking up and down all the time.
The best thing about the hotel was the location, near to loads of fantastic restaurants. The beach was a 10 min stroll away though it was very hot and tiring due to the humidity walking anywhere.
Good hotel but make sure you get the right room
from steve5Excellent Hotel
from HIta69The staff is what makes this place, all very friendly and always around maintaining the place, and making sure everything is spot on.
The pool area is great and the bar here plays great music and serves the best sex on the beach in Goa. The restaurant serves great food and it is only walking or a short cab ride to a host of other bars and restaurants (Sweet Chilli, Souza Lobo, Midas Touch to name a few)
The rooms are fine, but to be honest anyone who spends any length of time in there hotel rooms on holiday in Goa needs there head checking!
You gotta go!!!
from jimandbonThe hotel was charming, your rooms were cleaned every day with clean towels left whenever you wanted. You only had to ring Housekeeping for whatever you needed for your room and they were there in 5 minutes. Your breakfast was satisfactory tho there will always be some greedy person who would complain he hadnt enough choice. In our opinion there was plenty of choice.
The hotel staff were a joy. They were so helpful and polite; we took a particular liking to the little security man at the main entrace who always stood up and saluted to greet you with a cheery "good morning" or "good evening"!!
The walk to the beach was not the prettiest one we've seen but again the local people would greet you with a happy smile even tho they probably didnt have a lot to smile about. The Goan people are friendly and helpful and very welcoming.
Go on...................go to Goa and enjoy the experience!!
Jims big group!!
GO TO GOA ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE.
JIMS BIG GROUP OF 10!!
Excellent Holiday
from PardsThe location of the hotel was superb. We were spoilt for choice for good quality resturants in Candolim and would recommend Stone House, Casa Sea Shell, Inferno, Sea Shell Inn, Mango Grove & the list goes on!
An average meal each night for 3 courses each and a few beers was between £10-12 pound - unbelievably cheap! The weather in November was fabulous, very hot! Do not book trips with the reps. Find a cab driver, stick with him for two weeks and he will take you to all places of interest for a ridiculously cheap price. These people work for peanuts!!! We have never come across such friendly people. From what we heard, this hotel for a 3 star was one of the best in the area. I could not fault it at all, considering the time you actually spend in it.
Would definatly go back, absolutly loved Goa!!!
Abomination!
from ParadiseChickNice Hotel
from FATBUTFITOne of the best
from TriuumphNedThe staff are very friendly-and a few rupees here and there will get them going out of their way for you.
We gave the pool boy 50 R every now and again and had our sunbeds reserved every day.
Only minor complaint was the breakfast, which was rarely worth getting up for. The coffee was weak as dish water- take your own and use the free kettle.
And the omlette chef needs a few lessons.
Having said that, the lunch was always good. Try the Chicken Tikka or Lamb keema pizzas for a novel combo.
You are within walking distance of all the bars and restaurants of Candolim, so food is never a problem.
We would certainly recommend this hotel and will be returning i'm sure
t be better
from A TripAdvisor MemberIm just planning my return visit, we wanted to return last year but a family accident prevented this (he broke his hip!)
We were delighted from start to finish, it was our first trip to India. On reading the guide books, I was quite put off, all the cautions they give, im glad I went
The weather was incredible, the hotel extremely well maintained, the food WELL! if your adventurous absolutely great, both at the hotel and in and around Candolin. Best of all were the people, staff could not have been more helpful.
I was presented with a surprise birthday cake in the room, this was not arranged, the Phoenix staff had worked it out from their records - a very nice touch!
The other nice touch was the room service, each day our towels were left decoratively tied (see pictures).
Thank you
Best in Candolim

Dining Don't commit to one eating place there are lots of very good restaurants.
Dont take the coach transfer If you travel on a package hol, when you arrive in Goa, tell the rep at the airport you are going to make you own way to the hotel. A taxi will cost £8/9 to Candolim and it will save you waiting for ages for everyone to get on the transfer coach.
club 21 The beach shack Club 21 is just brilliant. Great food both day and night with an excellent upstairs platform for a cool breeze. The staff are just the best and play a mean game of cricket as well. Also check out Mai THai in town as you get the same great service there as well - it's the same owner and staff.
