Last year I wrote to say we were going back to the Bogmallo Hotel in January 2006. We did and had a fab time this time we did three weeks, and we were not let down at all, we got the deluxe suite by accident and it was lovely, we ate most of the time at Joets Shack and they made us really welcome. The people in the hotel love you they can not do enough for you. I liked the breakfast at the hotel we couldn't fault it at all, as soon as we came home we booked for another three weeks again in jan2007 with first choice and I cannot wait. Goa gives you a buzz, and the weather is superb.

Shame about the modernist architecture because the location is beautiful and v convenient (there is some aircraft noise, but not intrusive). Do b&b at most because hotel food is not great, certainly not compared to the excellent shacks on the beach. Last week when we were there, the guests were about 70% Indian (inc some from UK) which for me is a good recommendation in itself and lends it a friendly atmosphere. Staff are lovely too.

Just returned from a very relaxing week (9-16th december 2005). Lovely hotel, clean rooms, good air-con. All rooms have balconies and overlook the sea. Weather was perfect 20-30C hot sunny. Perfect winter break to escape the chilling December weather and the packed shops. Went scuba diving one morning, as there is a nearby dive centre behind Joets, played Tennis, swam and relaxed in the sun. Hotel only 15 mins from airport, so get a taxi there for about £1, no problems of noise. The beach is right by the hotel and has lots of lovely cafes - Johns, Joets are the best, excellent snapper and king fish. If you want a break with guaranteed sun and have a spare £500 then this is an excellent holiday. People do come back to this place time after time, which says it all really. Travelled with Manos, flights with my travel- ok airbus - comfy seats, flight went via Trivandrum, but returned direct.

I visited this hotel seven years ago and i have been back twice since. I am going back to this hotel in jan 2006. I think it is in a good position. It is like honeymooners paradise, but no good for any one wanting a good night life. This suits us. Last time i went to this hotel the rooms were lovely and waiters brill. We are looking forward to the holiday.

I used to think that people who returned to the same resort year after year were a bit sad until my wife and I stayed at The Bogmallo Beach Resort one mid-winter. We've now been five times and we've rarely met anyone there that hasn't been before. It's location is right on a beautiful sandy beach. The rooms all have a west facing sea view and balcony and are kept very clean. Go for bed & breakfast in a deluxe one as they have a fridge and there are a number of great beach seafood restaurants. These rooms have a fridge that can be filled with booze from the little yellow shop in the village square for a few quid. Nothing better than sitting on the balcony with a gin & tonic watching the sun set. This is the only hotel on the beach apart from a couple of guest houses with a few rooms. It's thus very quiet and laid back. We go at Christmas or early February and the weather is always great. We go for R & R and sometimes don't leave the beach area all fortnight although there are trips if you want them. On top of all that it's only 10-15 minutes from the airport by taxi. (Noise from the airport is not an issue).
Hey I'm getting a wistful writing this. Need to make a booking. Bye!!

Top Local Tips for Bogmallo Beach

Things to do We had a few trips out and about, washing the elephants is a must !!!they are lovely,my best advise is try not to do any over night trips as once you are out of the area to eat is taking a chance,we went on the eye of the tiger trip, the train was great we did see some of india but the hotel we had for two nights and the food was not all that good,my husband was the first to get ill, once we were back at the hotel we were fine,if you want to do some trips, try to do them in a day....for example, get a cab(cheap) to elephant kingdom and go and see the elephants for yourself for the day, rather than a trip with the rep,it is also cheaper,do some trips with the rep but try not to stay overnight anywhere else but the Bogmallo!!

best hol ever 3rd visit says something hire taxis between couples ,its cheap anyway ,and try eating in the shacks ,fab

Dont worry Dont believe any of the bad things you might read about Goa. You have more chance of getting the trots in Blackpool
