Beautiful rooms; spacious, clean and clearly designed for a more luxurious era. A bit pricey. Food good but not inspiring. 8 minute bike rickshaw to Keoladeo Park. Pool a bit chilly in winter. Grounds and palace very attractive.

Top Local Tips for Bharatpur

Deeg Palace Deeg Palace is about 1 - 1 1/2 hours from Bharatpur (when we visited it had rained so the road was VERY muddy). Deeg is an extremely beautiful palace and garden complex off the beaten track. After being with the hordes and hawkers in Agra, this is a place where you can relax and soak in the beauty unique to India at your own pace.

Keoladeo National Park The park is amazing even at low season should you have a good monsoon, we have always been lucky enough to come on good years so cannot vouch for it when the park is dry.

Hotel shop You may nearly miss this shop as it is so small - just to the right of the main entrance - but it actually has some extremely reasonably priced scarves and unusual books you might not find elsewhere.
