Nice hotel
from Jon256One thing to stay away from is the tour office in the hotel. He sells you a good deal, but the cars are small and old and you get a driver not the tour guide promised (big difference).
Great hotel. Excellent Roof top restaurant, Reception and Bathroom needs revamp.
from EastmeetsWestABFrom hotel perspective, this hotel is really great in terms of ammenities as they have post office, a bank for foreign exchange and several shops in the hotel. I would definitely recommend shopping in a shop called the Silk Emporium. The prices that he has quoted are the cheapest that I have seen so far. Shopping experience is wonderful in this shop as the owner does not hassle or bargain with you.
The food in roof top restaurant is excellent and services are faultless. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary there and they even make us a heart shaped cake to help us celebrate the night!!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!!!! The services there is up to 5Star service. Similar to Lake Palace hotel if not even better.
The restaurant at the ground floor level was ok nothing to wow about. We have buffet breakfast and there is quite a good selection.
Faultless
from Nikito_LauritaBad service ok room
from P18The room was good and the brekfast was brill. But what let this hotel down was the staff, very rude and ignorent!! Could not even get the simple things right. I asked for an extra towel and i had to call about 6 times before i finally got it.Also my friend was very sick and i asked the reception if i could get some medicine and there response was we dont know! Anyway dont expect anything when in agra. Very rude people and a very dirty place.
Good rooms, personalised service
from AmnesiaHKA word about 'Taj by Moonlight' viewing, though - On the night we went, the provincial policeman in-charge (a small-time official in a shabby grey suit) was extremely rude and in clear need of some customer-service training. Hotel staff later said they had received many complaints about police behavior - Anyone in U.P. government reading this please take note.
Nice hotel but not 5*
from Mark2211Overpriced average hotel
from jamesRooftop restaurant and room rates are overpriced compared to rest of india. Bathrooms are only passable. Rooms are very basic and the Taj View is more like a distant squint.
On our visit the power kept cutting out and the tv channels were wiped out too. Shops in the lobby are okay but you would think that you would be safe from the touts trying to sell you tacky nonsense. The pool is nice though and the monkey security guard is cool. Only okay but as a whole Agra is pretty disappointing, DAY TRIP recommended.
The best hotel in Agra
from ClairepbA early morning trip to the Taj Mahal is a must see the best way to get there is by rickshaw as they do not allow any motor vechiles near the Taj. When you get in there your bag will be searched and you cannot eat or smoke there. Out side there are people selling everything you can think of and they will try and get to buy what ever they have but just say a NO and they may listen but most likey they will try again and again but it is all part of the experience of India
Try and go to the Seik temples there and you will be able to feed the moneys that they have them that are tame, but will be harrised to pay for the food by the men there.
If you go on a rickshaw they will try and take you to a marble shop but if you do not want to go there just be ferm and also if you go for a walk you will be followed.
There is a nice resturant about 5/10 mins for the hotel it was very nice and very very cheap.
Enjoy!
Great value for high end hotel
from A TripAdvisor MemberWonderful welcome for tired travellers
from RamblingRobThis is a western style hotel where everything works. The restaurant stayed open for us and although expenisve by Indian standards the food, view and ambience seemed well worth the money.
The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. There is an excellent pool and all the facilities you would expect in a four star international hotel.
Top Local Tips for Agra
Ricky the rickshaw driver He was a charming man and not at all pushy, although we did go into some shops with him so he could get his commission. There are far too many touts all around the sites as locals pay so little for entry. You are constantly hassled.Make sure you go to Baby Taj and the view-point across the river - Mehtab Bagh - and also Akbar`s tomb.Good retaurants are Only, near the Clarks Shiraz and Maya in fatehabad Rd
Taj Mahal Try to visit early morning to get the best light and the least number of tourists!
Stay here If you lose your nerve and can't face Agra at least you have everything that you will need in the hotel, which at times is really reassuring.
