Top Local Tips for Rarotonga

buses are tops We didn't bother with a hire car simply took a 4x4 tour which took us all the places we wanted to go with the added bonus of commentary and local knwledge given by locals. We did everything else using the clockwise and anti clockwise buses. On time and simply the best way to get around the island!

Best Service Budget in the main town (Aravua) was so helpful. A car was delivered to our door (aircondtioned) by a wonderful lady that works there as she sensed I was desperate!

Scooters Get your drivers licence on your first day ($10!!) it's not only a great souvenir, but it allows you easy access (we loved the buses when it rained, and used our scooter every other day) to the island - and with only 32km total main road, you're never far from anywhere.
